I have stayed at this property before, and while it definitely could use some new paint (I say this in a kind way because the place is great for short stays), this time when I returned they were refurbishing certain parts of the building and it’s looking nicer and nicer. It’s not a 5 star resort, so if you don’t go in expecting luxury you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The people who work there are great and I’d absolutely stay there again!

It’s a cheap place, you get what you expect when it comes to lodging. Bathroom is a shared communal space. The room I had was a single and was decent.
The great selling point is the when location is if you don’t mind sacrificing luxury for a hoteling space. Next to the beach, next to a big shopping center, good food trucks right outside. The staff were kind and answered any questions I had. Overall, if you don’t care where you sleep at night, it’s a good cheap option with good service.

Not a standard business trip stay, but Honolulu was overbooked and YMCA fit the bill. Location is amazing. Facilities very simple but adequate, and staying there felt like contributing to a community, rather than a random hotel company.

Very spartan accommodation. Toilets an showers not up to any reasonable standard. Very busy road outside and louvre windows offered no protection from the noise of the traffic. Staff members were friendly, but this did not compensate for the run down condition of the facilities. Not good value for fee per night.

Well, this is a YMCA. Separate bathroom down the hall, semi-clean. The advantage of this place is its location: right in the middle of five star, hotels, condos, and a huge shopping mall (The Alo Monoa). The staff are very friendly. Otherwise, just sleep there and stay out all day.
