Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh West Homestead/Waterfront

When we went it was so nice. Friendly staff, clean and fresh lobby. Little cafe/restaurant right in the lobby. We had the pool to ourselves and it is amazing in there. Nice sized hot tub connected too but over looking the pool with a little waterfall coming out of the front of the hot tub into the pool. In the workout room they have dumbbells and treadmills. I’ll tell you this DO NOT skip breakfast, when we woke up we went weren’t expecting what they offered us. My daughter French toast with fresh fruit, my niece had a bagel with cream cheese I had and absolutely LOVED the avocado toast with chopped green onion, sun-dried tomatoes, sea salt and what looked like arugula (lettuce of some kind). It was amazing I want to stay there just in the hopes I get that again!! 10/10. I’m an extremely picky, high maintenance type of person and this is a clean quiet place. They could use newer tubs the one in my king room looked a bit worn down, but the one in my queen was fine. We didn’t have a microwave in either room. That’s really my only complaint and it’s not a big one.

The bed was so comfortable and the room was so cozy. The staff were great from check in to departure.

Checkin was quick and easy. The room was great. It’s in an extremely convenient location so we were able to check in, drop off our bags and go grab dinner at Burgatory. It all went downhill from there. We got back from dinner around 9 and wanted to relax in the whirlpool but the whole pool area was overrun with unsupervised kids. The laundromat was closed. There were no vending machines where the signs said there would be vending machines and the little “store” only had overpriced diet soda and water plus coffee drinks but it was late night so those were unnecessary. After the pool closed, the same group of unsupervised kids was playing a loud game of hide and seek in the hallways. Usually I would say this is beyond the hotel’s control but the woman at front desk seemed to be encouraging them rather than asking their parents to control their kids. I rarely splurge on the more expensive hotels but decided to treat my family this time as it was a graduation celebration and we all just felt underwhelmed. I don’t recommend this location if relaxation is your goal.
