DoubleTree by Hilton Durango

Beautiful location, nice clean hotel. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Shower was great. On a trip and this place was our second night and ended up being the best sleep on the trip.

Aging hotel in need of thorough cleaning, updating, and repairs. Noted pealing paint and wallpaper in the room. Brown goo dripping from bathroom ceiling. Someone else’s hair clinging to shower wall and ceiling.

Hotel is very tired and in need of an update. Felt nickle and dimed for many things that are complimentary at similar hotels. Charging $14 a day to self park in a huge lot is insulting.

Great hotel stay. The room was very cozy and clean. The location is perfect, right on the river and walking distance to train and shops. The Beer Garden was the perfect spot for food and drinks located on the hotel property. We were surprised by the $12 a day parking but we really enjoyed the stay.

My first review of DoubleTree by Hilton in Durango was not very complementary. All but one of the issues I raised then were promptly addressed by hotel management and staff. However, when I checked out, my bill was $24.01 more than I'd been quoted by Expedia.com. Apparently, the new desk clerks charged me $12.00 per night for two night's parking which the manager told me they had agreed not to charge for parking after I had complained about that in my first review. So that was NOT fixed to my satisfaction. The only other remaining issue was with the maids who merely left clear plastic bags for the waste baskets draped over the side of the basket without actually installing them in the waste basket for use. My home cleaning ladies always install new trash bags in the waste baskets in my house when they empty the old ones. Apparently, for $238 plus $32 taxes per night, you're supposed to put your own trash bags in the waste baskets. The room itself was fairly comfortable. The bathroom was large and had all the usual accoutrements. I chose a king bed with separate sofa room because it was larger than a plain king bed room. The sofa gives you a place to sit and watch the big screen TV without having to sit on the end of the bed like most hotel rooms. The air conditioning worked well, was easy to adjust, and kept the room warm. It didn't seem to have a vent in the bath-room which could be a bit chillier at times.

Its right by the river, downtown, quiet, and has a great pool and hot tub. You can walk to a grocery store that has a Starbucks. It's close to everything and has tons of parking.

Beautiful property

Our stay at the Doubletree in Durango was very nice. Our room had a view of the river and was spacious. Most of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We took advantage of the restaurant one morning before our trip to Ouray. They made us to-go breakfast sandwiches on biscuits that were delicious. You could tell this hotel has been around for some time and it has been updated. The location was pretty central to town and there is a grocery store next to the property. Our room was quiet, except for work being done along the River Walk directly below our room, but they didnt start work until 8am so it didn't bother us. There were multiple outlets to plug electronic chargers in and they had towel racks to hang up towels (something a lot of newer hotels dont have anymore!)Overall we would stay here again the next time we come to Durango.

Property needs some remodeling but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

I’ve been staying in this hotel once or twice a year for about ten years. It’s definitely dates, but it’s definitely showing signs of wear that didn’t exist in the past. There are new hotels popping up all around town. It’s either time to renovate or people should be staying elsewhere
