Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront Mackinaw City

Building showed obvious signs of age and lack of maintenance. The breakfast buffet was the same everyday with limited and cheapened selections, There was no staff available to empty overflowing trash bins or clean tables, and only 1 person to restock the eggs and pancakes. However, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Front desk was very friendly, warm pool, great location.

Front desk staff seemed to resent that we booked through expedia.

Lovely surprise when fireworks started right out our back door. Doors opening to beach on first floor should really be impeccably maintained for security sake. Room was huge but decor severely dated (wife watches way too much HGTV) outer doors aside from the main one should require room key after dark.

Propriety was okay we didn't like that you could go in and out of the building anytime without using a key or card

The outside of hotel was attractive and looked promising. The front lobby and pool was attractive also. However, the room itself needed a lot of TLC! The bathroom door was so warped that if you actually tried to close so that the door stayed shut, you had to really work at getting it open. When I told the front desk they were not really concerned. The breakfast was on the third floor. It was not nearly large enough to accommodate the customers. No one was cleaning tables or spills. Half the chairs were ripped and dirty. Would not go to it again.

Close to everything, great little beach area and clean rooms. Would be nice to have a microwave in the room

Walking distance to ferries to Mackinac Island and all restaurants and pubs in downtown Mackinac City. Room had amazing view of lake and an unexpected fireworks show on Saturday night. Check in was quick and easy and wonderful staff at reception. Will be back

Great location- plenty of parking. Easy walk to the ferry launches and downtown shopping area. The pool was very overly chlorinated and cloudy. There was a pubic hair on the toilet when we checked in.

Dirty..no soap.hair in shower drain,went to get breakfast nothing left to eat.No microwave.

We were not given the room that we had been advertised it faced the parking lot and not the water. The TV set went out three times and we could not get it repaired. Outside doors have no locks on them. Anyone can get in refrigerator does not have a freezer. The rooms are musty smelling. staff is friendly but the TV broke snd it took 2 days to get it fixed. Ac/heater had to be replaced. Hot tub is not hot enough. It was dirty and the button to turn it on lasted about two minutes. Breakfast was adequate.

Well the staff is awful about answering or returning their phone calls. However when we got there. They were super nice and accommodated us on our upgrade. Ok the downfall. The upstairs room. The jacuzzi water stank like rotten eggs. Then to make matters worse there was hair all up in the filter. Pubic hair jarred loose by the jets. (Shudder) Now were reasonable people. Figured it was just a fluke. We moved to the upgrade the following morning. Room 145. very nice. Jacuzzi was clean, odor free water. 😆 Ok later we found issues with this room too. Electrical issues, light switches didn't work. If one room was lit. It meant the other room had no lights out all. 1 bulb burnt out. Toilet leaked from bottom. Here im yelling at the boy's for what i think is poor aiming. (Straight up yello urine) Until i wiped and saw a trail along underneath the toilet bowl. Its leaking from the bowl. Gross! Now i should've called them on it. But the problem of getting a replacement room similar to what we had. Would've been bear impossible. Due to how booked they were. Ao we made the best of it. The beachfront room is gorgeous. But i wanted to let you all know to be proactive. 😀

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly - they were the best part of our stay! The location to the ferry was decent. Other than that we were disappointed. The hot breakfast was not good, which was the reason I booked this hotel. If you like pancakes and waffles you’ll enjoy it, but I can’t eat gluten so my options were dry, rehydrated powdered eggs, ham slices, and corn flakes. If high quality it would have been good, but we went out to breakfast 2 of our 3 days. Our room had a pretty musty smell and the mattress was really hard, old, and uncomfortable. The bathroom was okay - the water ran out of the shower & the shower head had a lot of hard water build up.

Room was clean but outdated. Balconies should be included in housekeeping.

The check in was great. The pool did not look clean enough for me.

The workmanship on the $250 a night room was terrible. Was missing the soap holder in shower. Room would've been awesome other than that and the horrible tiling job. The rooms are NOT sound proof. That's false advertising.

Looked very nice from the outside. Once you got in it was in need of an update beds were terrible.
