Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Birmingham

Staff was helpful. Relatively quiet. Bed very comfortable.

This hotel is connected to a Home2 hotel so the common areas were very busy. The breakfast buffet was $19 person but was not worth it at all. Very unappealing, lacked variety of hot breakfast options and it did not help that the adjoining hotel offered free breakfast that was at least complimentary or better than the $19 breakfast we got. The hotel rooms were clean and cozy however, the common areas had stained rugs and dirty floors (dirt and spills) that didn't get addressed in a timely manner. The staff was helpful and polite. It was a busy time at the hotel which could expain the upkeep of the common areas.

Great localization, near hospitals and security.

The check-in experience was great. However, on the day of check-out, all three elevators were out of service, and there was no assistance available. I had to carry three heavy suitcases on my own, which made the departure quite challenging.

Jamila was so amazing. She helped me handle everything because they were sold out in a hotel and I had a reservation but something I messed up and she helped me fix that she was so amazing and so is the coworker working next to her Chase thank you guys so much you are angels. Ashley knight

The hotel was quite busy during our stay causing a short delay in accessing our room. The entire facility was clean and pleasant. The staff, especially Destiney at FD and server in the home dining area were outstanding!! We will stay here again. The mattresses could use an upgrade but that’s not on the staff.

Misleading about breakfast, it is an additional $18 a person. Also parking charge (which was reasonable for area) Staff very friendly (shout out to Nick & Litsa in kitchen/food service) The hotel itself have very stinky/stained carpet which gave room a musty moldy smell. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean

WE WERE IN TOWN FOR MY DAUGHTERS WEDDING, THE HOTEL WAS IN A GOOD LOCATION, WE COULD WALK TO RESTAURANTS. PAYING FOR PARKING AND FOR BREAKFAST AT THE HOTE WAS A NEGATIVE

The room was very nice and the beds and pillows very comfy but our shower did not work well and the hot/cold face plate was not secure to the wall so it was hard to tell which way to turn the faucets. Our coffee maker did not work either. I think it was clogged up, it took a long time to heat up and only produced about a quarter cup of coffe. Also around 3 am. someone banged on our door and i jumped out the bed and looked through the peep hole and saw 2 young men standing at the door and when i said "can i help you" one ran off and the other walked away but it sounded like they continued to bang on doors down the hall. My sister was on another floor and was also woken up by what she described as the 2 same men banging on her room door as well. I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning. It made me feel a little unsafe. 20.00 a day to park, 5.00 for a bottle of soda and 17.99 for breakfast sems like very expensive extras to me. We chose to eat at a breakfast place down the street and witnessed a car jacking. This our first time visiting Birmingham.

During check-in and during a follow-up

The front desk area was terrible. I walked up to the "Front" desk, but since we were checked in to Hilton Gardens Inn, we were directed to go around to the "Back" desk? And, that person could not help us, because the person at the "Front" desk was "entering all the rooms" into their computers? I was told to "wait a minute, and step to the side", meanwhile a line formed and they were all helped and were able to check in, ahead of me? The front desk person continued to look over at me, but kept calling people from the line over to check in?

I was very impressed with the front desk help and professionalism. The room was pristine. The iron did not work though but it was nice that they had an ironing board and iron allocated for each room. The beds were relatively comfortable and the pillows were super comfy.The cleaning staff knocked and woke me up an hour and a half before check out time asking if I was checking out.I think they should have a list of who is checking out and or has checked out and not disturb guests.My only complaint is the price for the room.I believe the rates were jacked up due to a graduation that weekend that many guest were attending. Over $300.00 was excessive especially since breakfast was not included. The room was commensurate with what I have paid in the neighborhood of $220 in similar markets.
