Lobby was beautiful! Rooms were a bit dated, however still very clean. Staff was very friendly and the location was extremely close to Union Square!

Wonderful hotel. Great service, amazing location. One odd thing about the bathroom soap: crazily perfumed! It started giving me a headache. That’s never happened to me before so I found that a little odd. But hand soap aside, I would stay here again in a minute. Truly a fabulous hotel.

We stayed at the Mark Hopkins last Tuesday night and had a great experience. The hotel has a classic, welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent across the board — staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I especially appreciated the quality of the espresso and croissants in the morning. Overall, it was a comfortable and high-quality stay, and we look forward to returning.

It is a very outdated hotel, but has some cool historic features. The bathrooms have limited counter space and there are not enough outlets likely due to it being built such a long time ago. They definitely put effort in to retain some of the old charm but it is hard to compare it with cleaner and more modern amenities nearby
