Island Grand at TradeWinds

We didn’t have any view of the beach. The pools were nice. The beach access was also nice. The room was on the smaller side, and we had a couple who coughed next door to us, the entire time we were in our room. So we could hear them coughing.

Very clean

Beachside restaurant closed. Lobby shop closed. Not sure why. Would have used both but no big deal. Would have liked to know before I arrived so I could plan ahead. If I was informed of closures I would still likely have stayed but I would have planned days and evenings differently. Please inform the clients. It is the ethical thing to do.

Restaurants closed construction all over pool and beach area. Night time staff not very helpful or accommodating.

Our stay was was great, the resort was clean staff were attentive and very nice, plenty of pools to choose from, beach was amazing, chairs and umbrella are included, plenty of choices for restaurants either at Grand Isle or RumFish or near the property. Our room had partial ocean view, balcony very narrow but accommodating, room was spacious. Plenty to keep kids busy. I would definitely return.

The Island Grand is a beautiful property, and overall, we enjoyed it and would stay again. Great dining options, and you have access to both the Island Grand and Rumfish properties. There was an issue with storm flooding on the ground floor of the resort, and resort staff worked hard to dry up the carpets and had fans going. It looked like they also had an outside company come in to clean the carpets and disinfect, etc. We were on the 4th floor, so it wasn't an issue for us, but we did have to walk through some wet, soggy areas. The balcony room was small, and the balconies at Island Grand are not private. It looked like the balcony rooms at the Rumfish were more private, similar to a condo balcony with concrete walls. The on-site dining options were good, so no need to go off-site unless you wanted to explore more of the area. The only other setback and total surprise to us was that upon check-in for a 3-night stay, they put a hold of $700 on our card to cover not only parking and resort fees, but also "possible" expenses charged to the room. This might be standard at resorts, but it ties up a chunk of funds. We used our credit card, so it wasn't an issue, but still a surprise and unexpected for them to hold that much money against available credit. To put it into perspective, we had already paid for our entire room stay through Expedia, and our total bill at checkout was only $280 for resort fees and parking. We opted to pay directly at restaurants. Overall good experience!

tuvimos una experiencia para olvidar. desde mala atencion en el ckeck in. me dieron la habitación a las 7 de la tarde. 3 horas despues de las 4!!!! y si no reclamaba pasaba la noche en el lobby. fotos engañosas. el hotel es muy viejo. llovió todo el tiempo por lo cual se suspendieron las actividades. tuvimos una cucharacha enorme en la habitación y les tengo fobia. vivo viajando y la verdad me arruinron 3 dias de mi viaje por la Florida.

My family and I have been guests at the TW Hotel for several years now. About a month ago we returned from our last stay at your resort in St. Pete, but some unfortunate incidents prompted me to write this review. We stayed in room 2403: #1: One of the parts of the lock simply didn't exist; it had apparently been ripped off, making it impossible for us to provide greater security for our family. #2: You can see the poor condition of the curtain. There were so many holes it looked like there were an army of moths. #3: Bathroom exhaust fan cover heroically holding onto the wall to prevent it from collapsing. #4 and #5: You can see dozens of stains from something that apparently exploded in the kitchen on the chandelier, bathroom door, and ceiling. #8 (#9 is a video but couldn’t be attached here): This was probably the one that bothered us the most), there was a noisy renovation going on in the apartments directly below ours. It was impossible to sleep late during our stay because the machinery was extremely noisy. I fully understand that it's impossible to undertake a renovation of this type without generating noise, but we were shocked by the hotel management's failure to block off the rooms surrounding the renovation and to place guests as far away from the area as possible. #11: After an 1 1/2 hour delay, this is how the kids had to watch the movie (the staff just didn’t know how to operate the projector). A have a few more to say, but my 1,500 characters are gone. Thank you

Unfortunately, our weekend had rain Friday night. Saturday morning, we woke up prior to sunrise to take advantage of clear skies, but hotel amenities didn't open until 9 & 10am. By the time they opened another storm was coming through - and the hotel amenities never opened. Rain for the rest of Saturday. Sunday was the same thing - we are up and ready, but hotel amenities were not open. Once again, by the time amenities opened it was raining again. The hotel cannot control the weather - but it would be nice if they at least tried to accommodate around FL rainy season. We've stayed at Trade Winds several times over the last 10 years - it definitely doesn't appeal like it used to. There are several obvious deferred maintenance items and damages from previous years' hurricanes.

The rooms are dated BUT the rooms are clean felt comfortable no issues with this hotel next up the sister property RUMFISH!!

I would like to emprove more grocery inside for people wh don’t come with car is not that much option to eat

I stayed at Islands Grand TradeWinds recently, and honestly, the place feels pretty outdated. The rooms really need some renovations. On top of that, after already paying a lot for the room, having to pay extra for amenities and parking felt a bit over the top. For the price, I expected a fresher, more updated experience.
