Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Witherspoon Apartments Center City

While the staff was nice, do not book this apartment. It was like staying in a college dorm room - dirty, loud, and confusing. Every wall was scuffed, there was a literal hole in the dry wall by my nightstand; the bed didn’t even have a box spring, just laying on the floor. I’m not opposed to budget hotels, but the reviews, rating and especially the price were misleading.The app boasts their cleaning service which upon review is “not yet available”. The area is convenient but everything else would have me steer clear, I’m so disappointed.

Lovely stay at Sonder Witherspoon- would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to checking out other Sonder properties!

It was a wonderful short stay. I was only in town for a short stay. I look forward to coming to stay a few days longer next time.

I liked they there way a digital key so i didn't have to worry about a key card for entry to the hotel and my room but they never worked so I used the pin pad. This seems to be an issue they are aware of because when i told front desk they basically said "yeah that happens". When I was leaving one morning I double checked my room door and it had not and would not locked behind me, BAD. Had it been that way all night? There is no way for me to tell. There is no front desk phone so I had to go down to the lobby and they were able to lock it from there. The wifi did not work for me either, the number to call was a customer service number and I hung up after a minute on hold because it just didnt matter to me that much. I do like that there were free luggage lockers available for after check out but I had to go to multiple floors to find a proper sized locker that actually locked, most were occupied or broken. Those are my gripes, overall it was clean, the elevators were fast, the room was as pictured and its in convenient location.

Great place to stay in Philly.

The area around the property was horrible. Me and my mom were unable to get into the building as there were lot of homeless people blocking the entrance. This is the most unsafe I felt in Philadelphia, a place where I have lived for 2 years. There was nobody at the reception to help. I left the place and immediately booked a room at Residence Inn. I haven’t heard back from the Sonder team, highly unprofessional, wouldn’t recommend them ever.

Great stay solo weekend on the city safe and clean close to gay bars

Upon arriving, we discovered that the only wheelchair accessible entrance door was inaccessible, as our code would not work. We talked with the front desk representative, who told us there was a system failure that needed to be reset. Day 2, and no fix. My family had to go in the front door and let me in the accessible door. We talked with a security guard, who then reported the issue to a manager. She finally had to give us a key fob to access the door. Toilet paper holder broken. Shower curtain rod broken. Toilet running constantly. We had to take the tank lid off to stop it from running. On our last night, we used the clothes dryer. It set off the smoke alarms in the room. We had to be moved to another room. That room faced a street (other room faced a courtyard, so was relatively quiet). Center City is very noisy, so we heard everything going on that Saturday night. The sofa sleeper in that room was horrible. It was basically sleeping on springs. My daughter ended up putting the sleeper back to a sofa and slept that way. We are Sonder members, have stayed in three locations (two in Philadelphia and one in Chicago) and this was our worst experience.

Just what I needed for my stay in the city. Hot showers, clean bed, and an equipped unit with a kitchen that had everything that I needed and laundry. Front desk was kind and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.

The suite worked perfectly for us. Also being able to store our luggage was very helpful.

AC was too cold even with heat mode. Called and was told someone would come to look at it but nobody came. Made the apartment very uncomfortable.

Great experience overall. One of the front desk staff was not very nice cheerful or understanding. Entry keys should be accessible for visually impaired guests. It’s difficult to punch in your code if you can’t see or feel the numbers on the key pad.

Great place and location for the price. Friendly staff, very clean. Bedroom could use a fan because the AC wasn’t great, made sleep a bit uncomfortable.

Roku difficult to set up

The rooms where nice I just wished it was insite parking or atleast the parking was included in the stay

Great place for our family of 3. very convenient location to walk around and use public transit, having a washer and dryer was also super helpful as this was a part of a longer trip.
