The Brookside Motel by Belvilla Keystone Near Mt.Rushmore

The lying owner/manager lied to me and said that he did not have my Expedia reservation for for 3nights so I had to make another reservation when I called him up to say that I would be late on July 29 for my Expedia reservation.The lying owner/manager said that I did not prepay for the Expedia reservation that I made.In fact I did prepay for part of the reservation and he did not credit me for it.To add insult to injury,the same dishonest owner/manager tacked on an additional unwarranted 100 dollar charge at the end of my reservation for routine cleaning.Nothing was damaged or stained.The floors and counters were clear ready to clean.Aii the garbage was in receptacles. I am forced to dispute his dishonesty with Citibank Mastercard.

Nothing to live in but for a few nights it was good for the price could use some cleaning up around back at the creek for a little walk but a lot of people never new there was a creek back there ha ha

Nice, comfortable hotel. A bit dated but super nice, hard working gentleman (?owner?). Good quiet location.

Breakfast was just so-so- otherwise nice place to stay with dogs

Hotel was a good deal for the price to be close to Mt Rushmore and Keystone is a cool town

Decent breakfast. Older property . Back by the creek needed to be mowed. Owner was very nice and accomodating.

I made a reservation for a queen bed. Room was supposed to have tv-didn’t work, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, no alarm clock. Bed was old full size. Drapes couldn’t be closed adequately lights didn’t work except over sink. Carpet was so dirty I wouldn’t put my feet or anything else down on it. Shower pressure was non existent. I was scared.

It's an older property that could use some updating. Personnel were excellent. Great location.

Very old structure. Needs a complete renovation. However, the room was clean, the bed very comfortable. The shower is a freaking joke.

Well it was a bed to sleep in. But property was pretty run down. Water pressure and temperature kept changing during a shower. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was okay. Would probably have spent the extra money on one of the other chain hotels if we were to do it again.

The price was great for the beautiful location. Staff was friendly but the room was interesting. Smelt like mold really bad. They Tried to do a split double bed room but the bathroom was very inconvenient, and if you closed the door the second bed wouldn't feel the A/C. Couldn't hear all their kids playing outside because of the A/C unit. Location is prime key! Super beautiful outside.

Accommodating staff

The place is ok budget friendly . You get what you paid for, I don’t know why they said it’s very good . Maybe the review was given by their relatives . The place itself is great bec it is very close to Mt . Rushmore . But the place is almost run down . They gave us a room close d to the dumpster don’t know if there are snakes or rats . They should clean up the place . The room has no toilet paper . The towels are so rundown , white is almost grey. The WiFi and TV not working . What I don’t like the most they get and open your room without your permission just to check if the WiFi connection is working . Really they invade your privacy . We got there and the owner and their son was inside our room looking for wires outlet that connect to the WiFi in the surrounding area. No offer to clean the room . The only thing I like is the king size bed is comfy to sleep in . One thing when we turn the air on and microwave the electricity flickered and turn off. .

The facility was an older property that showed its age but the proprietor did a good job keeping everything in order. He was very friendly, caring and always prompt with any requests made. We prefer softer mattresses so be prepared for extra firm if you stay here. We would stay here again.

Shower head to low, very small bathroom

The TV wasn’t working and he blamed expedite you guys should’ve told me before I booked it. Also, there was a window that did not lock and somebody could come right in and steal our stuff or hurt us so I was very worried about safety.

Cozy little cabin that accommodated both of us and our dogs nicely. Staff was kind and appreciative. Also had a nice breakfast.

Price was ok. Tv and internet didnt work. Missing cover on inside bathroom door knob. Not enough wall sockets. Paint on bathroom light. Pair of old socks on ground outside front door.

It was a very clean room and staff was very helpful

The motel is a little bit faded but the staff are certainly trying to do their best. For the price it has an extremely convenient location and offers a hot breakfast with a wide selection of cold food. I would certainly stay here again.
