Paola at the front desk was awesome. We arrived early and we were able to do early check in for a fee. Our room was upgraded and switch to 2 queen size beds. Ate at Charlie Palmer for breakfast. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.

The staff were fantastic. Answering questions, offering suggestions. Hotel is beautiful, clean, beds were comfortable and the ammenities were fantastic. The cafe, resteraunt, and rooftop were all excellent! Beautiful hotel with a cool history. Enjoyed the book in our room to learn about the area.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very safe and convenient to subway, great dining and shopping. We will definitely stay there again.

Staff were rude and discriminatory, They gave us a room with broken shades, plumbing issues and a small window with scaffolding and told us that this is an upgrade to what we had paid, they also said that all rooms have one small window and have the plumbing noises, very condescending attitude

This was the second time we had visited since my wife introduced us to this hotel 10 years ago. She was apprehensive about returning and she was right. It is still unfriendly, overcrowded and impersonal. And of course being located in the middle of Times Square means you are in the midst of madness.
Whilst we could tolerate the busy location, it was the room we were offered as the "Presidential Suite" that was the biggest shock. We have been in a number of Presidential Suites in some of the top hotels in the world - and this fell well below our expectations especially given the price point charged.
The shower, for example, had an ill-fitting shower curtain (not even the dignity of a basic floor-length shower curtain, never mind a proper shower screen or shower door given the type of room we were paying for). Additionally, there was an odd seat affixed to the wall in the shower which was all very bizarre and simply did not fit in with the rest of the bathroom. Infact, the aesthetic of the entire Suite was dark and uninviting and certainly shocking for the price paid. The bed had ants in it. And corners of the hallway had dirty piles of laundry unattended, as we were entering the Suite, which obviously left a bad first impression.
They also continue to charge our bankcard $1.07 at random intervals since we checked out, without any explanation. What (in a supposed 5 star hotel in New York) costs $1.07 to keep charging us at random intervals without explanation?

The room was good - clean, quiet, and comfortable with a great layout and a nice bathroom. Water pressure was strong, and we especially liked the body wash and shampoo provided. The building has scaffolding outside that stays lit at night, and unfortunately, the blackout blinds didn’t work, so it was a bit bright. That aside, it was a lovely stay. The rooftop is a nice touch, and the property includes a lounge, two restaurants, and a gym. Perfect for a one-night stay with solid amenities.

I was charged a residence fee and a resort which includes water bottle which is not even high end and we bought our own water, shoe shine which I never care for, NY TIME ON internet, I have my own news, fitness- I didn’t go to hotel for fitness, and unlimited calls? I’m deaf and their phone system doesn’t work for me. I use videophone. Don’t book through hotels, their app is nonfuctional, how can we book something and it doesn’t show up on the app?! don’t book through hotels.
