The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small but nicely decorated lobby with adequate seating. We loved our junior suite, which had two bathrooms (one with a shower). It would have been nice to have a microwave, but it did have a mini fridge and sink in the living room. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job cleaning our room and providing fresh towels. We didn't use valet services, but the bell staff were very helpful with luggage storage and helping us with taxi and ride sharing needs. The hotel restaurant (Hoyts) was underwhelming and was more of a bar. But the wait staff were helpful and we did get a nightcap a couple of evenings there, and the Royal Eggs Benedict was delicious. Overall, the Royal Sonesta was a great place to stay. It was conveniently located to the theater district, architecture boat tour, and the big bus hop on/off, and we loved the views!

We came to Chicago for my wife birthday and to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. We didn’t want to leave, spent our last night at the Sonesta and absolutely loved the heck out of it!

This place has the best view and is right in the heart of where you want to be in Chicago. The staff were awesome. The room was plenty big and had everything we wanted in a room. The hallways were a little dirty, could have been vacuumed. Overall, the property was in good condition and the gym was nice too. I will stay here again. I have been to several places in Chicago to stay and this is my favorite so far!

A lot of people were getting into their rooms before us. When my husband asked the front desk several times they seemed uncaring. He started to get upset and then they gave us a river view. It would have been nice to have been treated well without having to get upset first

The restaurant staff are not friendly. We were there on vacation and while eating breakfast we asked a server about their opinion on things to do or where to do and NOTHING . It was like we weren’t good enough to speak to. If you wanted something you needed to ask, no checking up on your family to see how you are doing. Menu very limited. If you have kids this place isnt very kid friendly. We tried to give the restaurant another try the next morning but again service was not great if you wanted/needing something you had to get up and ask. So we left and went elsewhere .

The location was superior, right on Wacker overlooking the river. The room was spacious and the price was reasonable. Being a 1/2 block walk to the Magnificent Mile, it allowed me to have my business meeting while my wife could shop.

Beautiful hotel right on the river and close to everything. Amazing view, staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in an accessible room for a family member and had a lot of space. Great city to walk, and very accessible actually, as well as this hotel. Would stay here again.
