We got two triple rooms that turned out to be suites, so much more space than we expected. The staff was very helpful. They all spoke a little English and some were great at English - we could get by with Google translate. The hotel appears to be older but with remodeling. Some of the furniture is old, and the showers seemed to limit the amount of hot water that comes out. It is in a *great* location in town, and for the price we are happy. The free breakfast was bread, cheese, ham, pastries, yogurt, juice and coffee.

Felt a little unsafe as the door to the room has only a push button lock. The room faced the front of the building and the lights to illuminate the building shone right into the room. There were no blackout curtains. There were two outlets in my he room. One for the tv and the other shared by email the bed lamps, leaving no place to charge electronics. There was a mini-fridge in the closet, but it wasn’t plugged in. Towels, soap, and shampoo were not satisfactory. I stayed here because of the vicinity to nearby friends.

Although we had an issue with our air conditioner on upon our arrival during the hottest day of our stay, the staff resolved the situation quickly. The staff was the superior part of the stay, followed the ideal location of the hotel and the quality of the breakfast. You can count on the staff to assist you with tours, transportation and all around service. The accommodations may appear to be Spartan to American travelers who regularly stay business hotels or higher. But given that there are no major hotel chains in Punta del Este (the Conrad changed ownership), one should understand that investments in renovations is not a good business option for hotels here. For those hotels that have to stick it out, they must rely on the personal touch of the staff and the amenities which they can offer. The Iberia Hotel definitely exercised the best of what they had. I would definitely stay here on my next visit.

Convenient walking distance to beaches and downtown. The room furnishings are a little old but everything is clean, especially the bathrooms. Breakfast is mediocre but passable. The is a small grocery store two blocked away so you can stock up on a few things for the room refrigerator. Would gladly stay here again as the price, friendliness and cleanliness are just fine.

We had a pleasant experience in this hotel, hotel staff were very kind, and location was great. One of the cons I would say is the room condition, you could see some wires hanging out. Besides it, breakfast was poor from my point of view, since the only thing to eat was some croissants, but a lot of things to drink. About the parking service: Two times we got locked inside the parking for a while because who open and close the door use a camera, a good recommendation is to point a flashlight (even with your phone) to the camera so they notice you.

For the price charged I was expecting a nice hotel it was not the case. One of the two rooms we booked was dirty, old equipment, weird smell. I will not recommend this hotel at all or it needs to be half price and you will know what to expect. But at $200 per night, really really disappointed.

The room was clean and very comfortable. However, it was not at all what was described in hotels.com. It was a small room with a bed and a TV - no chair, no desk, no shower/tub combo, no laundry, no makeup mirror, no sofa. All the reasons I had chosen it (aside from location) were not correct. When I pointed this out, they couldn't do anything and the manager wasn't there. Too expensive for the room amenities. I speak Spanish well (live in Chile), but some of the hotel staff insisted on speaking "English" to me based on my American complexion even when I started the conversation in Spanish. Hit or miss as to the quality of the speaker - one was great, but the other was bad (very difficult to understand) and had an attitude about it. I understand/appreciate the value of even broken English for people with no Spanish, but shouldn't force it on us if we are speaking Spanish.

Hotel was in a great location . For us the location was perfect. A short walk to the marina and the Rio de la Plata beaches . It is also a short walk to the Atlantic beaches almost in the middle of both. A five minute walk to the business centre of Punta Del Este and around a 10-15 minute walk from the main bus station . Hotel was very clean and had a large eating area for breakfast. A very large T.V. room was adjacent to the eating area with large chairs and couches and large T.V. and lots of english channels BBC , CNN ect.The rooms were a little small but the beds were great and again it was very clean. The staff of Laura, Victoria, Juan and Gabriel were all very nice and extremely helpful. They all spoke english .We had a great time and for the price point I would highly recommend this hotel.
