There is no lift, this is an old, old property but what it lacks in lifts it excels in character, charm and friendliness. The food is amazing and attracts people from across the local area, so make sure you book dinner. The cocktails are delicious and the atmosphere so friendly and buzzing for a small town. Parking is secure and there is a loading bay outside to drop off suitcases, don’t park up and then bring down your cases unless you are extremely spritely. The room was so clean and spacious with a bath and shower! The towels were even fluffy! We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, the staff could not do enough to make sure our stay was relaxed. Thank you.

Booked room only in a "Very good" room, which i would probably describe as good. The pictures online make it look a lot bigger. We travelled in the heatwave, and the small window in the rooms only opened a few inches. There was a small fan provided, but for me, it just moved the hot air. Due to the heat, I didn't get much sleep. Also at 6am on Monday morning, the bin men came, crashing, banging and emptying the bottle bin at 1000 decibels. Prior to arrival, I rang to request a parking space as a blue badge holder. The lady I spoke to said they had a space, but it was about 40 steep steps down to the hotel. She explained there was a pay and display car park up the road, on the flat. On arrival, we went to the hotel car park, and wow, she wasn't wrong. I took a while to get down the steps, but knew there was no way I would be getting up them. On check in, the lady I spoke to took us to see an accessible room, but it was quite small and dark, so stuck with our original room, up two flights of stairs, no lift due to the age of the property. On departure, I found it easier to exit the hotel, and walk the route to the car park along the main street. Uphill, but no steps. All in all, if you have any mobility issues this isn't the place for you, however the lady on check in went over and above to find the most suitable room, and even offered to carry our bags. We did not eat at the hotel. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Our room was clean and comfortable, we even had an iron and ironing board which was very useful. Hairdryer was good, lovely body wash and shampoo in the bathroom. Good quality bedding and towels. The staff were very courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening meal which was very good, very generous portions and good quality. The breakfasts were excellent. The car park has quite a few steep steps down to reception but it is possible to walk around the road and it’s easy to drop off and pick up outside of the hotel. It is in a central location and is in the centre of town. Excellent location for walking and sightseeing around the area.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and breakfast was great. Property has a lot of stairs from the car park to the hotel and also to the rooms which would be useful to mention in the booking information.

Overall great stay, room lovely and big, lovely big bath and the food was delicious. Small improvements would include accessibility access- we were on second floor which for us was fine, but for those with limited mobility no lift. Would also note the room got very warm, no air con so something to be mindful of, particularly in the summer months (there was a plug in small fan available).

Good welcome. Special request for room with a bath was met. Massive luxurious bedroom. Top end toiletries but dispensers could be lower down in bath area so they can be reached when bathing. Superb breakfast. Good to perfection. Excellent choice and served to you at your table. Delicious quality ground coffee. Always love our stay at the Cawdor. It never disappoints.
