Finally it is open. Last year I went there and there is nothing there. The collections in the main building are nice, but it can be better in my opinion. Feel annoyed a little bit because people there just to make content, taking picture and video of themselves instead of enjoying the art, and prevent others who wants to enjoy the art cannot fully experience it. For example they stay in front of some picture for a long time, making video of themselves or taking hundreds pictures of themselves. They don’t even see the art. So sad.
The collection of Nyala exhibition is also quite interesting, especially the main painting from Raden Saleh about Diponegoro. It is nice because the signage is explaining the context nicely, make us be able to understand Raden Saleh and his perspective. But again, too many people just standing there to take pictures so cannot enjoy it fully.
All in all, it is quite a good excursion in the weekend.
