We went from Narita to Tokyo Stn, transferred train to Niigata, and after 3 days to Sendai for 2 nights and back to Tokyo. The JR pass allowed you to acquire the necessary train tickets to our various destinations. Identifying the track to get our trains was tricky as it was our first time to Japan, but train Stn staff were very helpful.

The train runs smoothly and on time, so it's a good choice to save time.

Very convenient, value for money, and we travelled up north up to Sapporo and Hakata down south within 1 week. The interconnectivity between cities is excellent. Some of the apps are useful for travel plan.

JR Pass is really recommended for those who planned to make multiple trips between cities in Japan. Get the exchange order delivered to your address within 2 days or so. The exchange order was also completed with clear instructions on how to proceed with the exchange. Exchange the order for the real JR Pass once you arrive in Japan. I personally exchanged it at JR East Travel Service Center - Narita airport. No queue line whatsoever and the officer was really helpful. He offered me to help reserving a seat for my first trip with shinkansen to Osaka.

At first, I was confused at the train station because there were so many logos to remember. But then, after a while, it became so much easier to use in Japan since they made it easier to recognize the logo that is able to use the JR Pass. But remember, even if you have a JR pass, it is a good idea to book a seat at the machine counter for shinkansen, or you will be standing for 2 hours straight.
