We didn't gey a change of towels or take trash out unless it was requested. Room doors paint was peeling off, couldn't even fully open the laundry door. It says, breakfast included but extremely limited to waffles, toasted bread and cereal. When I asked why our room was nit cleaned (after 5pm), they said the cleaning was not finished. I asked the manager if they could clean first thing in the morning and he said we had to ask for it aftet 9am and be in the room while they do the cleaning...so ridiculous. Pay a little more and look for a better hotel/service. I think the 2 stars are more than they deserve.

There was trash piled up in the trash can by the swimming pool (which was right outside our room) the whole time we were there. There was what looked like mold on the ceiling of the room. The sink did not drain properly and took several minutes to drain completely after using.

There was black mold in our room. The front desk never answered phone. The code for the TV did not work. The airconditon did not work half the time. Made so much noise my son couldn't sleep. We had to pay $25.00 for parking. The parking lot was filthy. We had to pay a lot of money to stay. It is obvious they do not put any money back in the hotel. Management not friendly at all. Never answered phone.

My family & I arrived on Thursday July 3rd. When waiting to get checked in, we overheard a lady complaining that her room had black mold and the cleanliness of the room was awful. We understand that some people just are unhappy traveling and complain so took it with a grain of salt. Checked in, received our room number and key, room was at the back of the property. All doors on back of property look like they’ve been beaten. Awful looking. The toilet never flushed the entire time. We had to plunge it every single time we used it. The toilet was also not secured to the floor. It lifted and leaned. The room floors were dirty, black feet and the bathroom was filth. People in parking lot 20 feet from my car blasting off fireworks. Workers present and don’t stop them. Trash all over parking lot. Positive - the room got very cold! Loved that.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. Period. Stained sheets, refused to give us blankets, elevator doesn’t work. Customer service is nonexistent. Free breakfast…what breakfast? The “breakfast” consisted of waffles, stale cereal, and toast. The front lobby was dirty with crumbs and food lying out. It took at least 15 minutes for us to speak with someone when we first arrived due to no one being at the desk. The whole facility itself is discussing and run down. Spoke to the manager directly about my concerns and all I got in return was excuses and refused to do anything to make it better. This place would get 0 stars if I had the option.

Title: Bloodstains, Dirty Bedding, No A/C – First Responder’s Worst Hotel Stay Review: I stayed at Wingate by Wyndham Galveston Beachfront on July 4, 2025 (Room 338) and experienced what I can only describe as dangerous, unsanitary conditions that should disqualify this hotel from being listed on Expedia. Upon entering the room, I found: A pillow with dried blood stains Another pillow with black mascara/eye makeup, showing linens were not changed Sand, hair, and debris in the sheets A non-functioning air conditioning unit during a Texas summer And most disturbing — a large dried bloodstain under the bed, clearly visible and left uncleaned I called the front desk immediately to request clean sheets. A woman answered, then hung up on me, and no follow-up occurred. I am a former LE officer with over a decade of experience, and my husband is a veteran, paramedic, and investigator. We both know what bodily fluids look like. This was not a misunderstanding — it was a clear biohazard and a complete failure of sanitation and guest safety protocols.

Worst of the worst hotel service, try to browse through all the amenities the hotel has. Staff was friendly but as far as you needed something they’re very tight on the supplies.

Horrid. Nasty dirty. Very poor ac. Window broken. Beds and walls and lamps all dirty. Bathroom door wouldn’t even close. Left within 5 minutes.

It was not clean and they would only do anything to the room at your request. Of the many, many hotels I've stayed at in my traveling career this is at the bottom of my list. I've traveled the world for the past fifty years on business and rarely experienced this class of stay. Not again.

Called multiple times to the front desk before arriving and no one ever answered. We get to the place, looks run down! Find out that even staying there because I have a vehicle there’s a daily charge to park. Finally get checked in because I couldn’t check in even 15 mins early, get to the room there’s MOLD on the skirt of the bed, on the floor, and wall! Towels were wet when we went to use them. Clogged drain, like not draining at all in the shower, and floors felt like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. You have people banging on your door in the middle of the night. This place had no customer service whatsoever! Definitely not worth the price I paid to stay here! 0/10 do NOT recommend! Sucks that our anniversary getaway was with this place :(

Because the hotel is right on the beach, the salt air has definitely had an effect on the room. Other than the natural damage of constant humidity and salt air, the room was clean and spacious. The toilet was clogged when we arrived, but the staff was quick to send someone to fix it and we didn't have issues after that. The beach access was right across the street and so convenient for our party.

My initial room should be condemned, the second room I was moved to wasn’t any better and we were kept awake until 4am with people breaking into the pool

Need better pillows. No shampoo/ bodywash soap..

Dirty and poor service had to pay 15 for parking that was not mentioned dirty room

Was a little disappointed in having to pay $15 to park in the property lot. When paying for a room, I expect a parking space in their lot at no charge.

the location is great, staff is friendly and nice. unfortunately we had a faucet that would not turn all the way off.

This was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The property was rundown and dirty. The staff was unfriendly and unresponsive. The breakfast food ran out, the trash cans were overflowing. We asked staff to refill water and waffle batter and were ignored. The beds in the rooms were small (not even a double) and there was no blanket, only a sheet. The shampoo and body wash in the shower were empty. The floors were dirty and the doors stuck. I can’t believe they charge for this place!

The hotel was in such bad condition with mold in the room, dirty sheets and dead bugs. We refused to stay here, requested a refund and booked a different hotel.
