Even though it was their fault that we couldn’t pay a 29 euro bill ( the card scanner battery was dead) they locked us out of our room Truly the most unhelpful arrogant staff I have travelled extensively and we will never stay in a riu branded hotel again

The staff were professional, courteous and helpful. The hotel location was ideal for sightseeing, shopping, eating and sleeping. The breakfast buffet was such a welcome benefit.

The hotel is beautiful, with the character of the original features intact. Upon arrival the foyer/porter staff were exceptionally professional, friendly and intuitive. The updated rooms are gorgeous. Breakfast buffet was included with our stay, and was fantastic. My only criticism is a big one. We came early to the hotel due to our early flight from Canada. We were told that check-in wasn't officially until 3 pm, there was a good possibility that we could get in early, possibly in the morning, we would just have to leave our email. My husband filled out the form, and somehow his email was copied incorrectly. We waited 6 1/2 hours. We checked with the incredibly busy staff 3 times during those hours, and we were told each time "it's not ready yet, we will email you." Finally my husband asked for a manager, and when he checked into it, we were told the email was sent an hour and a half earlier...to the wrong email. The staff is very young. Mistakes happen, I get it. But this was a huge mistake that could have been easily avoided. I would suggest a different system for this. And this is the sole reason I cannot give 5 stars.

Nice hotel, but not as close to the areas we were walking since it was on the north side of the bridge. Flooring was not typical for a 4 star hotel. Bathroom had no counter space. Nice hotel, value for money was not the best.

Good in restaurant was very poor, and we ordered breakfast to the room and it looked sloppy, threw together, and basics like butter for toast were not on tray. Very disappointing.

This was a centrally located hotel in Dublin. We enjoyed it , The management sent a small dessert up to the room with strawberries for our anniversary. Nice! The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. Parking was a bit expensive.

The staff was very attentive and helpful. Able to check in before noon, but had to leave very early the next day for the airport. Thoughtful take-out breakfasts were prepared for us and freshly brewed coffee served in the bar area. A highlight was a getting a last minute ticket to The Gate Theater just across the street. Would highly recommend for location!

We felt this was a grand hotel finished to a high standard. Very clean and well kept. Our room was very clean. We used the bar which was reasonably priced in comparison to other bars in Dublin. The breakfast was very nice, lots of variety and food was to a high standard. The bar staff, breakfast restaurant staff and house keepers were all very polite. The only issue we had was that our room wasn’t quite ready. We were given our key but when we got to the room, the cleaner was still preparing the room. We found the reception staff the least polite and welcoming.

The staff were very polite and friendly. I would recommend this hotel because of the serve, but the location is in the city center.

Our first real introduction/welcome to Dublin was in the restaurant, our waitress Allison. She should be on the Dublin tourism board. My husband wanted to take her home. He had a cough and she made a special hot tea for him, recommended our first taste of Irish food that was awesome and answered our many questions. Our positive impression of Riu had a lot to do with how welcoming and warm she was.

If you are a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you. The hallways are so loud, everything echos so you’ll hear people going up and down, wasted and slamming doors until 2am. I had to walk outside and ask people to be quiet several times. The location is great and the rooms are big but it’s not worth the price. I would look elsewhere.

Breakfast was excellent with a great choice. Hotel is fabulous, the only let down was that the room doors were not soundproof, you could hear everyone going past and with the flooring not being carpet you could hear every footstep.
