Access road has huge potholes bad enough to damage vehicle. Parking is inconvenient. No valet or bellman. Dated property from 1990s. Strong smell of garbage throughout property. Heating in room did not work. Cold air blowing in hallways despite 50 degree temps. This I s probably thecworst property in tbe whole chain.

Nice facility overall. A few minor issues in the room that were quickly corrected.

Toilets didn’t work. NO HOT TUB. This place advertises hot tubs but there isn’t one. They let babies swim in the pool. Kinda disgusting. The elevator got stuck. We can literally see the other side of it. Never staying at Trumbull Marriott Shelton again.

The property is fine. A typical Marriott. The majority of things are good. But, when we went to sleep, we had to turn the A/C on. It sounded like a freight train until 2AM at which time it stopped working. The quiet was great, but it became too warm to sleep comfortably. Then we could hear what I believe was the A/C unit in another room constantly turning on then immediately turning off, rinse/repeat....ALL night long. I didn't sleep from 2AM onwards. You got to a hotel to sleep... And this was not good for sleeping.

My only disappointment was that the gym did not include the weight stations and equipment that was advertised.

It's been several years since my wife and I traveled to the area. And stayed at the Marriott. Since then, the condition of the hotel has slipped slightly downward.I'm sure with just a little bit of commitment. It can be back to the excellent standard. We experienced from our last visit

The hotel could use a facelift. Outdated carpeting and decor. The air conditioner/heating unit was noisy and could use some maintenance. The staff, including the front desk and bar/restaurant were friendly, helpful and accommodating . The hotel location was really nice and convenient. Overall, I will give it another look and stay there again in the near future.

Don’t stay here. The front desk staff tried to be accommodating when the first room was not clean in time for our arrival It was later in the evening so the room should have been ready for guests but when we went in there the table tops were dirty and sticky clearly someone had spilled something on the desk and it was never cleaned. We got moved to another room upon request . This room appeared clean at first but when I went into the bathroom there were hairs on the floor from the previous guests. Gross. I also found two bugs in the bathroom. There was a vent in the bathroom that looked old and dirty that’s probably where the bugs were coming in from… and the doorway to the bathroom had rusted out on the bottom. Unsafe. It was late by that time so I didn’t ask for another room change but I was really uncomfortable in the room and didn’t sleep well at all thinking there are probably more insects in this room I didn’t dare use the bedding. At checkout I told front desk and they apologized for everything and gave me a small credit to my account ( that equaled $50) I would never ever stay here or go to this area again The whole place had a bad vibe and unfortunately almost ruined my whole weekend the only saving grace was it was sort of close to a beach area and we found a nice restaurant about 10 minutes away

This stay was not good. One of the main reasons I booked this Marriot was the hot tub. When I arrived, I went to see the hot tub and it was closed. Asking around I discovered it had been closed for weeks or months. They still have it in their website. VERY MISLEADING, and far beneath the usual Standards of a Marriot. The driveway leading into the property seems as though it has been carpetbombed. There were dozens of unavoidable, deep potholes. I had a rental, but would have been furious had I driven my own car. The building itself is run-down at best, as I would expect from a Red Roof Inn no in Daytona Beach or a 1980’s Las Vegas strip hotel. Our room was not serviced on one day. They did leave a typed note informing us the room was not “able to be serviced” that day. Marriot? Seriously? The AC was not very effective and the room was always on the verge of being uncomfortably warm. There was only one hook to hang a bath towel, and no towel rack. They give you three towels but only leave you one towel hook? The paint on the wood, on the doors, and door frames was scratched up throughout the hotel showing many years of neglect. To add insult to injury, I asked the hotel restaurant to borrow a metal spoon so I could eat some Hagen Dasz in my room, and I was told I couldn’t have a spoon unless I ordered food from the restaurant, as though I couldn’t be “trusted” with a used spoon. Overall nowhere near basic Marriot Standards. Won’t be back ever.
