This is a great hotel. The staff is really friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet.

We spent three nights here. The hotel is wonderful. Staff, breakfast and service was excellent. We will certainly stay here the next time we come to Karlstad. Also interesting history of the former prison and well designed museum. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel. Dinner was fine but not so impressed by breakfast. Would have preferred a smaller choice in breakfast menu with a higher bread quality.

Easy to find. Nice location. Easy parking. Rooms are small but it it's a historic building. We were offered a good upgrade. They serve a free buffet in the evening of good local food.

An excellent hotel. Close to everything. Staff was very accommodating. Rooms are comfortable and very quiet. This building used to be a prison, and they have kept the prison motif. Very historic. Breakfast buffet was ok. Not a huge selection, but adequate, and food was prepared nicely. I would stay again and would recommend this property.

It's an old prison and quite quirky. The standard rooms are small and on thr top floor a bit warm in summer, but there is a fan provided. The ropms and general hotel are of high quality.

It was disappointing that the room was very small at a very high price. In addition it was not possible to switch on the TV in the room.

Central spot to meet local relatives and explore area. Enjoyed free breakfast and free dinner included. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the jail history too. Added character.

I was a little dubious when I found out the hotel was a farmer prison, but the entire hotel was pleasant and clean. After staying in Stockholm with a tiny room, I was delighted to find the room not only large and comfortable but full of light. The free dinner buffet was great and there was plenty of food. The staff was friendly and helpful. If I go back to Karlstad, I will definitely stay here again.

A lovely old building converted to a hotel. Breakfast, coffee and cake in the afternoon and dinner is included which is very welcome.

Location is good. The hotel facilities are good but the room and the bed were too small. The breakfast the light meal were good but the dishes are not cleaned well many dirty. Nice staff.

Interesting place in a former prison. Your room includes breakfast and a dinner buffet which was delicious. The staff was very kind. Good location near shops and restaurants in central plaza.

Staying in a converted prison is interesting. The location is near the city and parking was free outside the prison walls. I was initially not allowed to check in early even though there were a room available... was first told there were no rooms and later told I had to pay to check in early. It was only after we told them that we had just checked out of another Clarion Collection hotel that they relented. I felt they were a little dishonest and unhelpful at check in. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay. I appreciated the dinners provided at the end of the day...

Great Hotel with comfortable bed and excellent location

Det var ett väldigt bra hotell. Trevlig miljö, utmärkt service, bra läge i Karlstad med god frukost och mar på kvällen.

Kanonhotell! Jag är sååå nöjd. Att för det priset få så sköna täcken, myskänsla, verkligt bra service och både god middag och en mycket bra frukost är ovanligt!

Meget høflig og venlig betjening - fint værelse og hyggelige omgivelser. Dejlig nemt og bekvemt med mulighed for at spise aftensmad på hotellet. I alt en god og positiv oplevelse jeg gerne vil anbefale andre.
