Great communal areas. Room clean and tidy. Damp smell in hall and poor sound proofing. Good staff.

From arrival to departure, I had a great stay! Check in was simple and efficient. The room was well laid out, bed super comfy and quiet. You do hear some 'water works' from rooms above during the night , but I've known far worse! TV good, bar good, didn't eat in the evening as times didn't fit but breakfast plentiful and delicious. Really happy with my stay.

Bruno on front reception was hand on heart the most helpful front of house person I have had the pleasure of dealing with Extremely patient and helpful with a complicated booking Bruno is an absolute credit to the hotel and will hopefully be rewarded accordingly by his bosses Thanks again

Was dreading parking as on my last visit the car park was rammed. This time it was almost empty so really easy. It’s a good quality hotel with a good rate. Staff very competent and rooms very nice. Highly recommend especially if you’re flying out from Newcastle airport just around the corner

The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet. Convenient for the A1 but not too close for any noise issues. The reception team were friendly and welcoming and a very fair price for such a nice hotel.

Room had everything we needed, however on arrival to our room we found a half eaten pizza crust at the side of the sofa…

Took a bit of time to be checked in, no staff at check in point/reception at time of our arrival Was taken to a room on third floor, the phone was not working and no TV remote. I had to come all the way down to inform the reception. He came up to confirm and brought a replacement TV remote which unfortunately did not work. He confirmed the phone was not working. He then casually informed that the maintenance team would come next morning around 9am to fix it and started walking out the room. No apology. I then told him what was going to happen overnight if I needed to make I call ( I was okay with not watching a TV). He then asked me * do you want to buy or ask anything overnight* . At the point I him I didn't know but I needed the phone to work. He seemed angry at me, then blurted out *if you want I can change the room for you*. I then said please. He went down and came up with the key to another room, then says here is the okay to then replacement room. He did not care to show us the direction to the room, no apology. The water pressure in the replacement room was not enough to neatly flush the toiley and the bathroom tub was clogged. Horrible experience and I told my wife, we would never stay in this hotel again.

Poor breakfast-Hot breakfast buffet was not very warm or presented

Usual friendly welcome from staff Both the reception and kitchen and dining room staff continue to be great. Dinner menu, and full breakfast are very fairly priced and of high quality. Overall, very reasonable price and value for money. Only downside is it is on top of a steep hill and a hike to the bus stop. Taxis to the airport are best booked through an app. Arriving at Newcastle Airport needs you to book a cab to the short stay Carpark because of the Arrow cabs monopoly. Huge price dining.

Service was good as usual. But it's winter and the room heating system needed warming up.
