Generally ok hotel. Room was comfortable but could do with better cleaning. They only clean every second day and there was a lot of accumulated dust around the edges of the carpet (especially on the stairs) Lift and corridor carpets could have been cleaner too. The Indian restaurant on the property is great.

The building and its great restoration start the in a great way. It may not suit those that want every amentity but the 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and very confortable. A warning that the bedroom is up stairs may be in oeder.

Very noisy being right next to the main rail line. Upstairs bedroom very hot despite aircon downstairs on 18deg. Cold air falls - it doesn’t rise !!

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite, bed was comfortable and we appreciated the extra space with a kitchenette, desk, couch and small dining table in the room! Would definitely stay again and was very short walk to the Casino / Southern Cross station and makes the whole city accessible

Stayed in a studio apartment and couldn’t believe how much space we had Room was clean and tidy Staff were a stand out friendly smiling nothing was too much trouble Location is perfect close to train train stations and Crown precinct Would absolutely stay again

This is a beautiful building with spacious and comfortable rooms. Although it is right next to the railways it is very quiet. I always try to stay here when I am in Melbourne.They always look after me well.

So much to like about this hotel. Loved the old world ambience and the personal and very pleasant reception on arrival. Plus hand written welcome card and gift waiting in room. A reminder of a time when service meant something more than making things available online. And I enjoyed a wonderful spacious room. Lovely place.

We really enjoyed the convenient location and the unique features of this hotel. Even though the room was a little dated and needed some repairs, it was none the less comfortable and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful with great information on the local area. We will stay again on our next visit.

Beautiful old building, great staff.

It’s such delight to find not only a building with classic character, but also a business that is run with old school customer service values. From the second we pulled up to the moment we checked out the staff were wonderful. The staff member who checked us in was amazing, giving us all the information we’d need for our stay, but also escorting us to our secure parking spot for the weekend and then giving us a tour of the facilities. The room we had on the 6th floor was clean, spacious and had full kitchen facilities. We were blown away with the scale of the halls and the grand ceiling height. It is refreshing to find a place to stay in the city that’s not just the same modern, uninspired and forgettable room that you’ve stayed in a million times before. The proximity to southern cross station, marvel stadium and the exhibition centre make it a great choice for regional travellers. We will stay at the grand Melbourne hotel again.
