Everything is good with the hotel except for the WiFi. It was remarkably slow.

Really awful checking in experience. Rooms were not available after 3pm. Staff super rude. Hardly any staff on restaurant. One waiter for restaurant and room service, wasn't able to keep up with all the work. The breakfast buffet is the only good thing about it.

Check-in staff and restaurant were very cordial and knowledgeable about their services/menu. Hotel and bathrooms were clean and the surrounding areas were safe for walks to the nearby Sam's Club and Casino accross the street.

Dogs barking at 7 am. Seriously? No one told me this was a dog pension instead of a Holiday Inn. Nevertheless not as bad as I thought but very,very old and too expensive for what it not is. The room I got was a mall and Ferris wheel view , considered an upgrade but since it must have been before the revolution they cleaned the windows you couldn’t recognize much. So I cthanked them and went to the other side which had cleaner windows and a nice volcano view. The room was spacious and nice, coffee maker and water provided but really old. The sofa had visible stains (yukkk) and the table must have been like 50 years old. They had dogs barking in one room, very bizarre. In general it was very quiet and pleasant. Staff was proactive and helpful. Strange you have to ask for toiletries at the front desk instead of just putting them in the bathroom. Penny pinchers at a 4 star level aren’t really welcome . Especially not when you’re an IHG member. I probably won’t return although all hotels I’ve seen in Mexico were more or less unsatisfactory except for the Ritz Carlton in Mexico City…but that’s 10x more expensive. Well, enjoy …
