Easy Review. Absolutely EVERYTHING was Top Notch. Food, staff, rooms and location, location, location!! Do not miss the chance to see the fantastic scenery and stay here.

Over priced and the quality doesn’t match the price. Our room was in need of an upgrade, it was noisy from the road traffic and the bathroom door was rotting from damp. There was damp around the shower. The bed was only marginally more comfortable than the pavement. They even tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn’t order. This was supposed to be a luxury treat, complete failure.

Beautiful location, easy parking, we stayed in room 101 which was lovely the only negative was no privacy when blackout curtains are open this room is clearly visible to all seated outside spa and courtyard.

Second time staying at the Daffodil Hotel, lovely location, clean, comfortable beds, good shower, staff exceptionally friendly whilst remaining professional and very helpful, restaurant food excellent, breakfast excellent with good choices, overall I find this place pretty much perfect!

Had a fab stay!!! All the staff were so welcoming, so friendly and very attentive. Very much enjoyed the spa and facilities too!! Can’t wait to be back already. Thank you for a great stay!

The hotel has a wonderful location overlooking Grasmere, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend staying here.

Great. One of the only hotels available with air con. Not cheap, but great experience. Only downside (negative Norman because i'm British) was that the ensuite was rather dated and could do with being refurbished

This is an older hotel in a gorgeous location right on Grasmere Lake. The interior has been modernized, which some traditionalists lament, but it is very comfortable. There is humorous, whimsical art throughout the facility. The large spa is a real plus. Breakfasts are ample and offer plenty of options. Large bathtubs in the rooms are very nice. Our shower stall often smelled musty, but this could be relieved by leaving the door open. A full length mirror in each room would be a good addition. If space is a concern, it could even be placed on the back of a closet door. All in all, a beautiful place in a prime location. We would stay here again.

It was disappointing that the hydrotherapy pool was closed for maintenance/repairs for part of our stay. The staff were friendly but our safe was locked for our entire stay and they were unable to unlock it for us. There were a number of niggles which we wouldn’t have expected from a hotel at this star rating, such as the leaking sink, basic toiletries and lumpy pillows. The cooked breakfast was not available at the beginning of breakfast service despite booking the 7.30 time slot. However, great location, comfortable bed and excellent food.

Beautiful setting. Restaurant was mixed- I had a vegetarian dish that was excellent, while my husband had a chicken Caesar salad that was inedible. Desk staff on arrival were cold & unwelcoming.

Very nice hotel with lovely well kept lawns and a stunning view of the lake. Staff are very professional and courteous. Everyone I encountered was friendly, hardworking working and clearly wanted the guests to have a really enjoyable and valued stay at the hotel. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. Very good housekeeping team. The spa was nice to use after a days cycling and hiking. The hotel also provides guided local walking routes that are nice to do from the hotel. The hotel has easy access to Grasmere village so able to walk from the hotel into the village for a coffee and delicious ice-cream. Ambleside was also very accessible via the local bus route so no need to use the car for exploring the immediate local area. We stayed for four nights so able to totally relax and be rejuvenated. Good breakfast and dinner options available. There is ample space to relax and fully enjoy the beautiful countryside that inspired Wordsworth poetry.

Its a very nice hotel, in a great location, and I was very pleased with my bedroom and bathroom. I also liked that there is ample car parking which is free, when more and more hotels have started charging for parking. On the downside, the food was mediocre, with breakfast being especially disappointing. Its not cheap either. I had considered ordering a cheeseburger from room service on one of the evenings, until I realised it would have cost me £32. Also I had the rather startling experience of having two strangers walk into my room in the middle of the afternoon. They had just checked in and had been allocated my room by mistake. All three of us went down to reception to complain, to be told that a mix-up had occurred during "staff training". A likely story.

The hotel is in such a beautiful location with sweeping grounds running right down to Grasmere lake plenty of parking and close to buses running into Keswick, Ambleside and Bowness My only complaint was that the cooked breakfast on our first morning was a little cold but fine the next day. The dinner menu is superb!
