Expected more from a 4 star. Bedroom window was broken, not closing fully and as a result the room was cold, had to use a towel to block out the draft. Spacewise the room was small for a family room, ok if just adults or older kids. Breakfast had the basics.

Hotel was ok. Unfortunately a few things let it down. The net curtains had stains on. There was shower wash and combined shampoo/conditioner - that was it! I would have expected a few more things, maybe body moisturiser. Shower caps would have been nice as the shower head wasn't adjustable. The hotel is advertised as having a spa, so would have expected robes in the room, however, to be honest you couldn't really call it a "spa". There was a pool and a sauna. There wasn't anywhere to relax once you'd been in the pool or sauna. So we didn't use either facilities. The room wasn't cleaned one day. We left the towels in the bath to be replaced but they were just folded up and left. Nothing else was touched in the bathroom or bedroom that day. When I enquired about it, I was told they were very busy that day and didn't get round to our room. They did however bring clean towels that evening and replacement coffee sachets. Toilet seat needed to be fixed. Incorrect info re buses and directions from reception staff. On a positive note the beds were quite comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was nice - good selection. I'm not sure I would rate it a 4* hotel.

Very unhappy with staying at this hotel. The grave yard that it is on was not delightful. Noises all night long. Possibly old pipes, thin walls and unruly guest. Horrible experience. The staff was very nice

Lovely old hotel, right in the center of town. Parking was impossible, ended up using the recommended car park and the validation they sold me at the hotel didn't work, so got to pay double for parking. But the hotel itself was really nice.

The hotel is in a great location. It’s an easy walk from the train station and close to the city center. The automated check in process was quick and easy. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of variety. It was a very nice place to stay.

I love this hotel with is quirky nature. Renovated from an old hospital. The history and photographs are amazing. Parkig on site is limited but you can be lucky to get a space here. Worse case scenario there's another carpark near the hotel for a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and for the age ofvthe building its very clean and well presented. A great spot

I had a good room on the 5th floor with a good view of the church next door. Room was tidy and made up everyday. Breakfast selection is good and the bar is nice to sit in. The car park is really tight and you are lucky if you get a space. Not a deal breaker though and i'd book to stay again.

Ah it is ok. For €170 solo, a bit poor value. It's a budget hotel charging semi-premium prices. Pay more and go elsewhere. Food was very bland. I just don't get it here. I travel a lot.

Pool and locker room needed a good clean. Staff very nice, but often long waits due to too few staff during a shift.

The automatic check in didn't work but the staff were helpful. Room was nice and spacious. Room service could be improved and the TV didn't work but the bed was great. I would stay here again as I think it was good value for money and a good location.

Hotel had it all, buffet breakfast was terrific, excellent swimming pool which i enjoyed before breakfast, while my husband made good use of the gym, and tried the sauna. Staff friendly and helpful, when the tv had a signal issue maintenance fixed it at once. Very clean, comfortsble room, lovely touches such as Irish water in containers and biscuits in room, enjoyed the whole atmosphere.

We stayed a night at the Maldron - had a standard double room booked. We ended up staying in a room marked “executive” on the second floor. The room was clean - if average - equipped with a small television, standard tea / coffee kit, and an electric plug in radiator (no air con). The bathroom while also generic, it was dated, with mould and grime all across the tiles, and the body wash dispenser was absolutely empty. A light fixture was also hanging out the bedroom ceiling. For the quality of room in comparison to price of nearby premier inns, for instance - definitely overpaid. Conveniently short walk to city center. Staff on the desk seemed friendly and helpful.
