It was very difficult to figure out how to make the shower work and to adjust the water temperature. Also climbing into the high bathtub was a challenge.

Amazing hotel. From the friendliness of the staff to the remarkable beauty of the decor of the hotel , it was a perfect stay. The historical architecture and beautiful decor was so wonderful to be surrounded by on a daily basis. The atmosphere was calm and it seemed like we were staying at a home rather than a hotel. The morning breakfast was superb and surrounded by beautiful details such as the majestic chandeliers and embroidered tablecloths. All the details are well laid out. The bar is great as well. The attention to making the stay unique such as welcome us with pastéis de nata and chocolates in the room initiate the caring environment. They even left us a bag with the hotel emblem in the room that I use all the time. Getting into the hotel if you have a car is tricky but there will be someone there to park the car right away. Everything interesting is within walking distance. Restaurants, shopping, churches and green zones in the city are very close by. Hotel is right by the train station that can take guests to Porto and elsewhere in Portugal. We will definitely go back and experience the magical environment of Avenida Palace. The best sleep I have ever had as well. Great views and soft beds make for a very relaxing stay.

A well maintained older hotel in a Prime location with an incredible morning buffet. Everything is walkable from the hotel with many sidewalk cafe's. The hotel also has a bar that serves food and often piano music in the large 2 story main room. The staff are very friendly and eager to assist.

What a beautiful hotel right in the heart of where you will want to be. The subway does pass underneath, so if you are a light sleeper, it may take some getting used to. Our room was very spacious with its own coffee area and fresh bottled water every day. Breakfast was amazing with loads of options. The bar area was our favorite spot each evening after exploring the city all day. Live piano music was a bonus.

I booked the Avenida Palace for my parents to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday. The hotel gave them a really lovely room and left little treats like natas. They told me the hotel was beautiful and that the breakfast buffet was excellent. I was nervous about them navigating Lisbon on their own but the concierge helped them find good restaurants close by and Fado performances as well as assisting with taxis. Thank you so much to the staff for looking after them so well!

We had an amazing stay at Avenida Palace. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and included all the amenities one enjoys at a top hotel. We especially enjoyed the live music in the salon (6:30-7:30 pm) and the bar, a very beautiful set of rooms with friendly service. Turn down service was wonderful. Breakfast was gourmet, with a variety of hot foods, a salad bar, tasty pastries, and very fresh fruit. Our concierge was also very helpful with arranging transportation to Sintra (train strike!) and the train station the day we left. We really liked the location for seeing Lisbon and would definitely return (honestly, it was very hard to leave).

This hotel is simply beautiful. It has old world elegance and charm with a wonderfully attentive, skilled staff. The location is absolutely ideal. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect stay.

Although the room is dated, it is very clean, well maintained. Excellent housekeeping, excellent staff throughout the property. Very attentive during breakfast with reasonably good selection. No hesitation to recommend.

Wonderful hotel. All the staff were so lovely and made our visit extra special. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was beautiful. Little treats such as pastel de natas in our room on arrival, little bottles of wine with cheese, meats and crackers and gerberas for the ladies at breakfast were such thoughtful touches. The rooms were so comfortable. The location was central and perfect for seeing Lisbon.
