Quite disappointed. Took a little longer than expected with check in. Appreciate it was after 11, however, the bar was still operating and thus noisy. I enquired if there was an event due to the volume. Check in team asked if I had been before, I explained I had not but then had to keep asking about amenities eg when and where breakfast took place and how to find the lift to the bedrooms. Room was comfortable but again noisy from other guests partying until 3am. Arrived at breakfast later than I hoped due to disrupted sleep. Order breakfast and explained I needed to leave in 15-20mins. Table behind not mindful of other guests and were screaming and laughing which made it an unpleasant experience. Order had not arrived so in fact I'd paid the full breakfast price for a cup of tea and a yoghurt. Have been to Birmingham many times and had booked due to a work event. Have previously enjoyed malmaison properties but would not recommend this due to the above experience with staff and other guests.

Convenient location and easy to find Room and en-suite clean, bed very comfortable Although we didn’t choose a cooked breakfast as we’d had a large meal the night before, the options looked amazing.

I love Malmaisons. The rooms are always different to the normal ones you get in other chains, but they're very well laid out. Even a standard double has a sofa at the end of the bed, so you don't have to be in bed to watch TV. The bars are always good too.

top class hotel. big room. very clean. wifi worked. It is part of the Mailbox building. Handy if you want to visit the BBC. Parking under the hotel. A bit of a challenge to get to the parking entrance but google helped. Food options in the bar a bit limited. would stay again.

Hotel fine for a quick stopover. I thought Malmaison was a little more upmarket than I found it but room was a good size, clean and the bed was comfortable - my only complaint was that you could hear a lot of voices from the corridor and adjoining room but this didn’t continue too late into the night. Reception staff were pleasant enough but slow and unable to help with basic questions such as ‘where can I find a postbox?’. The hotel was in a good location for what I needed and I would stay again should I need to be in that area.

Excellent stay, excellent staff. Only note would be lack of plugs by bedside, not the end of the world by any means. Would stay again!

Great modern hotel in central Birmingham. Has a small spa on site which you can use at a discounted rate as a guest. Was surprised to see there wasn’t a pool there but other facilities you can use. You can’t prebook the spa which is a shame, only hope there’s availability on the day. We had an issue with the drainage in our room, however once notified, staff were efficient at relocating and upgrading us for the inconvenience. I found staff to be very polite and attentive. Perfect location for wandering down to the bullring too. Also as a Starbucks onsite!

Only glitches were being given a twin when we booked a double and too speedy serving breakfast, brought out whilst still eating, cereal bowl in hand while breakfast in front of you not the best but ok. Food is good, ate in the restaurant and staff really friendly. Will be back again, these are the only grumbles and we stay here frequently

Staff on property are great - very kind, helpful and will go out of their way to help you out best they can. My room, a suite, was a bit Worn Out in general. The couch was a bit stained and very worn looking, the ottoman was collapsed on one side, a bit unsightly. The bathroom was pretty large and nice, however, the shower handle came off and it was very hard to get the temperature to the right hot or cold - I mean very challenging. The room was a bit dusty - the air vents needed new filters for sure. and lastly the best thing was the Air Con worked great - it was hot while I was there, and once the air con was turned on for the trip, it worked excellently.

The hotel is looking dated and tired. The bar and public area are nice enough but the rooms really need updating. My room had hardly any water pressure. It was difficult to brush my teeth let alone take a shower.

Great location and lovely standard rooms if stopping by for just one night. Tends to attract the “nightlife” crowd so is busy and noisy late at night and there can be people roaming the corridors so keep the door locked. The reception staff can be a bit preoccupied at busy times so make sure to check in at off peak times. Overall an ok experience with lots to like but if looking for a more upmarket experience would suggest the Hotel du Vin
