I have been a client of this Canadian chain of hotels for more than 20 years. This was my last stay with them.
We had a terrible experience at the restaurant for breakfast on Easter morning. First, the staff forgot to place our order. After more than 30 minutes of waiting, we managed to draw someone's attention.
After another 30 minutes of waiting, someone finally showed with the wrong order. When we indicated that this was not what we ordered, the young waiter started arguing that this is what they had for us.
We finally left the restaurant without having breakfast.
When we told the front desk about what happened, the person in charge mentioned that the restaurant was operated by a sub-contractor on which the hotel had very little leverage.
There are many nice hotels in downtown Montreal. The sad thing is that Le Germain is not one of them anymore.
