Really nice staff

Great location, in centre of the city. Clean, spacious, friendly staff

Room clean and bed comfy. Standard room but all good. Towel rail fell off and shower a bit fiddly, but not a major problem. Staff great, breakfast excellent, and lovely bar area.

Staff were fantastic, very welcoming, helpful, polite and friendly

Lovely hotel..easy to park. Spa was an added bonus. Great breakfast with made to order omelette.

Much improved since refurb and despite being in city Centre rooms were quiet and comfortable

Staff were very friendly in all parts of the hotel, livery bar area as well to relax and enjoy a drink.

Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet did not meet expectations. The staff were not especially welcoming, the selection was limited, and the hash brown did not appear to be freshly made. I also found the coffee undrinkable and was unable to finish it.

Lovely one night stay to go to winter wonderland.

Made very welcome by the reception staff and then later by the restaurant staff . Excellent room with all the usual facilities. Great Hotel handy for the Theatre Royal . Keep up the good work . Only negative side at breakfast no waiting staff to serve tea and coffee . The machine alternative is a poor substitute with many guests struggling to operate the drinks vending machine .

Toilet seat was dirty and the shower bath tap was faulty. This was sorted quickly after we mentioned it to reception. A fire alarm sounded around 0545 on the last day of our stay and carried on going on and off intermittently. We rang reception who initially said it was a false alarm caused by young kids messing about, but a continuous alarm sounded at about 0600 which caused us to evacuate our room. A senior staff member said that an investigation into the event was underway and anyone who wanted breakfast or had to pay for parking would not have to pay as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately when I asked about this later at reception I was unable to get a refund as I had paid my bill on arrival! However I did appreciate the gesture. My wife and I stay here when we visit relatives as it is very clean and convenient with a great breakfast and attached car park which is a bonus in the city centre.

There was a knocking noise from the ceiling in room 412. It happenened 90% of the time we wete there, so consiquently disturbed our sleep both nights, it sounded like air in pipes. Did not ask to move rooms due to hotel beeing busy and only having smaller rooms available

Outstretched stay for one night..from quick check in too express checknout.. Rooms very comfortable and quiet.. Will defiantly stay again ..

Lovely hotel and great staff. But having to evacuate in the early hours due to the fire alarm going off did ruin the whole experience.

Great location for the centre of town, shops, clubs etc. Lovely facilities, great staff and generally a good hotel. I recommended it.

Room was very clean, staff were excellent throughout apart from one rude lady at breakfast in the Friday but......otherwise a first class experience.

Derby

Fire alarm was activated around 5.30am. The alarm initially only sounded on and off and then the alarm became constant. This triggered an evacuation, which we were left standing outside with very little information.
