Here is a true case of better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Jeez, they did a lot of people dirty on this one! I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels with great and so-so service. But this one hit the jackpot! I made a reservation late this afternoon. We were a 7-hour drive away. Got here, checked in, everything was fine. Until someone random in the parking lot told us they were going to shut down the power at 9 a.m. So I went to check what time the pool opened, as we have a little one that's super excited to go for a swim and go down the awesome water slide. The answer was 8 a.m. but it would close at 9 due to the power outage. So why in the actual... didn't I get informed during the booking or when I paid that they had a planned power outage, after we drove 7 hours? This is absolutely unbelievable and shocking. And there's nothing they will do about it at the front desk. We get here at 11 p.m. and basically have to be out at 9 unless we want to be in the dark with our 3-year-old. As a business owner, I couldn't imagine withholding such important information.
