The location of Scandic Torget is its shining star - absolutely great central and walkable location. The staff was not very friendly or welcoming. Upon check-in we were assigned a handicap room. This room had an enormous bathroom & large bedroom. The problem was there was no place to unpack thus you are living out of your suitcase. Both rooms had no horizontal surfaces to set toiletries or clothing. We were told at the front desk that in Norway the rooms do not provide closet space. (Untrue as we had just come from Oslo). We did get assigned another room that was somewhat better however the lay-out of the new room was poor. The tv could only be viewed from the sofa and there was a wall shelf that impeded moving in and out of bed. The breakfast was another shining star at this hotel. Food quality and variety was quite good however staff was not cheerful.

Excellent hotel, ideally located in the centre of Bergen. Easy check in. Room was good. Staff were very helpful. Only slight issue was breakfast - seemed to be very busy all the time, but quality of food was very good. If I was to visit Bergen again I would happily rebook this hotel.

Functional hotel close to shopping and tourist areas. We walked from the station which was ok, but note there are quite a few cobblestone areas to navigate. Hotel opposite fish market and Bryggen area about 5 minutes walk. Rooms not huge but was ok for our short stay. Good quality breakfast included in our deal. Staying at same place after our cruise and looking forward to it.
