I booked on behalf of my parents and when I tried to ask the property a question it was quite a mission. My Expedia message was ignored, my phone call directly to the hotel rang for nearly 15 minutes with no answer leaving me to find a contact email instead. This was answered by the hotel a day later. A bit frustrating as I only had a quick question that shouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to sort. However, my parents were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and standards of the room. They did, however, find themselves amongst a wedding booking on the first night and said the bar area was busy, under staffed and with tables not being cleared. The following evening was much more relaxed though so I guess it is the luck of the drawer.

Lovely room but needed vacuuming around the bed and skirting boards Day staff really helpful We checked in at 12 am and 2 men on night duty really not helpful when we were trying to find our room as there are numerous lifts

All of the staff were friendly, efficient and completely responsive to our requests. All in all the hotel offered a high level of facilities and service and the location is ideal whether for visiting Cardiff or exploring the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was perfect with a balcony, extremely clean and everything was absolutely wonderful. Excellent value for money as well. 5 stars all around.

Possibly the best bed I've had in a hotel. Gym & pool were very well maintained, breakfast was excellent. We had a room with a balcony and the room itself was huge. No complaints, would stay again.

The place is really nice, but need to be cleaned better, the balcony is full of spider webs.

Huge hotel. Gym was really well equipped. Breakfast was tasty and lots of options.

A lovely stay in quiet country setting, although depending on what else is happening you may be limited by the facilities you can enjoy. In our case, due to a wedding a visit to the Distillery was unavailable on the only whole day we had and it was also tricky to find time to use any of the spa facilities as they have limited opening hours. Which is fine if you're here for a spa weekend, but not if you have other plans. The food is the Grill is excellent and the waiting staff were amazingly friendly.

Spacious room with comfortable beds , elemis toiletries bath and shower. Smart space outside to sit. Plentiful breakfast Large gym , swimming pool sauna steam room and jacuzzi -very clean

I recently visited this amazing place while in town for a wedding although not at this location and I’m genuinely impressed. The property has everything you could possibly need. I’m convinced they might have the best steam room and sauna on the planet; if relaxation were a sport, this place would win gold. Despite check‑in normally being at 3 p.m. I had traveled quite a long way, and the staff kindly prepared my room early. Their helpfulness deserves its own five‑star rating. I also dined at the at the restaurant and, honestly, the food was so good I briefly considered canceling all my future meal plans. Truly exceptional. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Great facilities, fantastic food, and a staff that goes above and beyond what more could you ask for
