My parents recently spent ten days at the Taj Bengal and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making them feel right at home. Highly recommend!

The Taj met all of my expectations and way beyond. From the Senior Manager to the Duty Manager Mrs Urva all was splendid. Chu at the spa is an incredible masseuse. I felt extremely relaxed. The gentleman Kishan who serves tea is so effulgent with his smile and loving attitude. I must say my favorite person was Birmal Darnal. He was so animated and made me feel so welcome. Shout out to the housekeeping staff and the restaurant. I love it hete

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service in all areas. Particularly Vimal in conceige was very helpful in organising our daily transport to activities. He went out of his way to help and see that we were comfortable. Buffet food was excellent. Service was great. Enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Easily one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. Impeccable service and standards. We stayed at three hotels in Kolkata for our trip and this was the clear winner for us. The staff were very helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome. Everyone from the concierge, house keeping, fnb services and the Taj club were so welcoming and accommodating. A shout out to Bimal, Kishan, Rajesh and the team we met in the Taj Club for their impeccable hospitality. There was a particular lady from the Taj Club that really stood out from the rest but unfortunately we didn't get her name. Defintiely would stay here again!

Not so great. It’s like a Hilton and not the level of luxury like at the Taj Palace Mumbai. Big beautiful suite with small bathroom. Staff are lovely.

It was an excellent stay. It was very conviniently located, close to the city center and easy transportation. There were good dining options. The staff was friendly and professional.

Dated needs renovation

We have stayed for almost a week before taking a short break and planning to return for another week. The hospitality is what sets Taj Bengal apart from the rest of the innumerable 5 star hotels. Everyone is eager to please, immensely respectful and welcoming. The concierge Mr. Sanjib Ghosh has done the impossible of even getting me a premium ticket for an international India – England T20, cricket match against all odds. The night manager Mr. Tanmoy was able to extend my stay for 2 additional nights (in a full hotel!), the sous chef Kavita was attentive to everyone and the morning buffet breakfast was so enjoyable. The main restaurant Sonargaon is par excellence in ambience, decor and food, albeit a bit expensive. This is truly one of the best Bengali restaurant I have ever been to. We didn’t use the gym or the spa. But again, what sets the Taj apart is the hospitality which money cannot buy in America.

Good hotel. Raj at the pool awesome - made my stay. Pool in the shade after midday. Towels very old and grey…odd for such a nice hotel. Others had long delays at check in . I didn’t. They could not find me a map Though…

We have stayed at the Taj Bengal multiple times. Cannot beat it for five star service, quality of the restaurants, the proximity to downtown and city landmarks.Delightful stay as always.

Breakfast was fantastic!! Common areas are beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms albeit good could use some modernization.

Hotel was fantastic and they couldnt do enough for us.
