Loved the old glamour of the 100 year old property.Loved the giant rooms! Parking a little tricky . Biggest issue was our reservation for two nights through Expedia turned into one and I spent 2 hours on the phone when we checked in trying to get the second night re-booked but hotel said there was no room. Expedia blamed the hotel on the mistake and hotel said Expedia. Nightmare way to start our family vacation.

Overall, the property was pretty nice! The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself was a nice mix of historic building on the outside and modern amenities on the inside. We were randomly upgraded to a two room suite, which was neat. However, the windows were not part of the update, so noise levels were fairly high even in the fifth floor. One weird touch was ghe old window in the shower, because you could see how much of a mold/mikdew/rot problem that will become with water constantly splashing onto the wooden frame. Also, immediately after check-in we were talked into a 90-minute time-share pitch after we were offered a "comped gift" for our wedding anniversary. They then said they had to put our card in for this gift, but after our presentation we would not have the $40 charged. We were essentially locked in for the presentation before we knew what hit us, and we would lose the money if we skipped. So, now we had to attend what turned out to be a 2-hour sales pitch before we could head to the Zoo and enjoy our anniversary. So, go in knowing that they might try to talk you into a Worldmark sales pitch; be ready to say no upon your arrival (or go along with it for the free perks if you can get through the sales pitch; just plan accordingly). The surrounding area has really cool features close by, but its also crowded if you opt for street parking instead of valet, and a few unhoused people in the area with mental health and substance issues.

This place is beautiful. Our room was better than we expected. The kitchen was equipped and the electric shade was awesome. Very attentive staff. The only thing I would gripe about is their valet parking and very limited parking off site. Oh, and the rooftop. It should not close each night. Definitely not. I will stay there again.

Classic, beautiful, recently remodeled. Calls from the concierge (chief sales person apparently) should be voided.

I truly loved my stay here, the staff is more than helpful and always there when you need them. They made my trip much better! Only complaint I had was they had construction going on from 8-6ish which wasn’t necessarily ideal especially because I had no clue they were doing renovations, but thankfully I wasn’t in the hotel most of the day so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. Just really loud. But it was entirely worth it! I will be staying here in the future :)

We loved our room, with the kitchenette, the big closet, safe and nice bathroom. It was all clean, and the staff was SO FRIENDLY! A complete joy to stay at your hotel and would come back as soon as we can. The building is beautiful, it has been modernized, but still has the charm of another time. We were very happy staying at the Inn.

This is our second stay in this hotel. It's now owned by Wyndham and seems to be a timeshare hotel (be ready for the pitch by the concierge to attend a meeting). Not to worry, the rooms still have the style and spaciousness that they always had. There's some city noise but not as much as downtown. We like the area near Balboa Park and felt safe even at night. Will stay here again.

The location of Inn at The Park keeps us returning again and again. Balboa Park is just across the street and with beautiful, interesting neighborhoods surrounding the Inn, it is a great place to walk.

What a weird place. Got there with my pregnant wife and our 18-month-old to see the zoo. The only place to unload was a “three minute only” spot out front. The whole hotel is serviced by a single elevator shared by guests and staff, so it took a long time to unload and a few trips up the elevator. Nobody offered to help. Checked it, got my keycards, showed my id and credit cards. Then the concierge wanted me to check in again to get a wristband that would unlock the room. I told him I didn’t need it since I already had a keycard, but he insisted it was mandatory, the wristband seemed to have no purpose. I told him I would get it later, since at that point I’d already been checking in for 30 minutes and my wife had a sleeping baby in the car. We finally got to our room, and while I held my sleeping baby the hotel staff called our room four times because they hadn’t registered our credit card properly. Then they called because they still demanded I get the useless wristband. Advice for hotel: tourists don’t want to be walking around with something that tells all potential criminals that they’re out-of-towners. Anyway, we finally got the stupid wristbands that served no purpose. Then after dinner, out 18-month old was running around to burn off some energy before bed. We got a calm from the front desk saying that someone in the cleaning staff had heard the noise in the hallway and we needed to be quiet. This is 7pm. We never turned in the TV or had a radio on, but in case you’re

My daughter and I stayed in a suite here and were very happy. The rooms are very large. The suite has two large bedrooms, a bathroom (adjoining both bedrooms) a kitchen, a dining room, and a large lounge room. The kitchen was well-equipped. There was no washing machine, but I believe there was a guest laundry. The rooms are fairly quiet at night time. The airport is so close to San Diego that you can always hear the planes from pretty much anywhere in the city, and this is no exception. As long as you're not planning on sleeping in, you'll probably be fine with it. The neighbourhood is fine. Extremely close to Balboa Park; the zoo and museums are all an easy walk away. There aren't many great restaurants in the area, but the Italian district or Gaslamp district are a 5 minute Uber ride away. There's a 24 hour 7-11 right across the road. The area was fairly safe but there were a few drunks around at night. Some reviews have mentioned the fact that this place tries to get you to attend one of their timeshare presentations. Yes, it's true. But, they take 'no' for an answer which is what you want. It's a minor inconvenience. If I were staying in San Diego again as a solo traveller I might choose somewhere a bit more upmarket but for a family stay this place was perfect.

We didn’t book this hotel by choice, Hotels.com cancelled our booking and this was offered as a replacement. However, for the price paid for 3 nights we were really disappointed. Hotel was very old, condition of rooms was quite poor. Great location, service was good. Staff do their best under the conditions. Breakfast was average.

We stayed in a king suite and I was so impressed with the size of it for the price. The staff was so friendly and they made our honeymoon experience with them so sweet. I really appreciated that the vallet service was so reasonably priced. We stayed in 3 different hotels while in Cali and this one was our favorite.

This spot was a great deal for a two bedroom suite. Close to Balboa Park, close to freeways. We walked a bit up to Hillcrest and there were many places to grab breakfast. The sale pitch was pretty low key and we chose not to attend. The roof deck seems nice, although we did not partake as it was very hot when we visited. While we didn't use the kitchen, it looked quite functional with plenty of dishes and nice size table. Staff was helpful and friendly.
