We found the staff very helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great plenty of choice , the staff were very quick to clean the tables for the next customers which was good to see.The atmosphere around the hotel was what makes a good hotel. You felt a sense of calm but not over powering.

Excellent location for attending the Utilita Arena, Symphony Hall or the SeaLife Centre. Q car park is adjacent to the property, or if arriving by train Birmingham New Street is a 15 minute walk. The property has comfortable rooms and the facilities are well maintained. BUT We attended the Les Mis concert at the Arena and returned to the hotel to have a drink to finish off the evening at around 10:30. However, there was only one member of staff serving and a queue of people quickly ensued. To add to this the card machine was only working intermittently. The member of staff coped wonderfully and should be commended, she was calm, efficient and dealt with what could have been a angry situation. Management should take a look at themselves and consider that if an event is in the nearby Arena, people will book the hotel (closest to the venue),they will return expecting the bar to be staffed appropriately and payment methods to be working. It's not complicated! Management should thank Eshaa for being so professional, I note that other reviewers have mentioned Eshaa previously, clearly she is an asset to the Hotel and I hope she is recompensed accordingly.

Room 306. The bathroom was dirty - the toilet clearly didn’t flush properly so we were treated to seeing the remnants of someone else’s waste. The toilet door didn’t close properly and the air conditioning was feeble, resulting in a very warm room and a bad night’s sleep.

Comfy room, clean and well appointed. Only negative was the air conditioning which we couldn’t get to work as we wanted. Excellent breakfast and really helpful and friendly staff. Parking facilities provided were ok going in but really tight on exit. You have to be really careful.

My husband and I chose to book this hotel due to its closeness to the Birmingham Utilia Arena which is a 5-10min slow walk. Brilliant location! Plus there are also lots of restaurants 5mins walk alongside the canal. We pre booked the QParking which is next to the hotel and had a discount given with our booking. Can’t fault the hotel it was clean and no issues but have a few bits of information for future travellers - spacious bedroom and large bed - but pillows are very soft and take your own hair dryer unless you have a strong thumb to hold button down continuously. There were two cold bottles of water in the fridge plus tea/ coffee (no biscuits!) Bathroom is cosy (room for one) but has shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap. No lock on door which was fine for us as a couple. Families with young children beware. Breakfast was yummy - there is a live cooking egg station! Waffle maker wasn’t working- oh well until next time. Will definitely return if we are visiting Birmingham outskirts again.

The hotel is in great location for bars, restaurants and going to shows at different venues. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is good value for money.

Hotel is perfectly placed for central Birmingham slightly out from the crazy crowds but close to lots of bars and restaurants. Tom on reception was very welcoming and professional excellent service this may well become my go to hotel when in Birmingham.

I was genuinely impressed with the friendly but professional service of the staff, the very clean, well maintained and quiet rooms, and the location is ideal for central Birmingham.

The air conditioning for the room was not working correctly, which meant at best the room temp was 27-28 degrees throughout the first two days of my stay. It was unusually warm outside and I had limited rest time so lived with it rather than trying to get a fix or a moved room. The third night once I returned to my room, the carpet was wet outside the room, so perhaps some maintenance had been done, the room was a more acceptable temperature - though it was also cooler outside. The fitness room is included, and is basic, but allows you to keep moving. I only had time on the first day to use it, and like the room the ambient air temperature was well above comfortable to do exercise. Cleanliness of the room was for the most part great, though a couple of bits which could have been better in the ensuite - toothpaste? Stains on the sink and some suspect stains around the base of the toilet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was opened promptly each day, and was of expected fair for a hotel buffet. I don't have time on my trip to sample the restaurant/room service or bar, so can't comment on these facilities.

I was particularly impressed at check in. I was greeted politely and pleasantly, offered a choice of higher or lower level rooms and when i mentioned my partner had COPD so low level for easier escape in the event of fire, i was offered assistance to evacuate if necessary. Top notch service. The hotel was clean, welcoming and a great location for events at the Utilitia arena
