2/10 ⭐️ We took a 10 day road trip from the states to Canada and back, and choose this property because they stated they were dog friendly. WRONG! They have a strict policy the dog must stay in the room with you, which wouldn’t be a problem except they aren’t allowed in the hot tub/sauna area which meant we were not able to enjoy these amenities. It was also a pain to have to walk him off the property to find a potty spot. We decided to stay an extra day and were told our room number would be xxx the night before moving rooms. When we arrived back at the hotel after a day trip we were given the key cards to said room and there was someone else in there! If I would have known it was such a pain to stay here with our 8 lb dog who is carried in a bag the vast majority of the time I would have chosen a different property, especially given the amount of minute paid per night!

Staff members were wonderful! Walking distance to downtown Banff, hot tub was great! Had a great experience here!

The breakfast was subpar both times. The oatmeal was watered down. It looked like they either kept adding more and more water to the pot when it was running low on oatmeal or the ratio for making oatmeal was 1 part of oatmeal to 4parts of water. My husband even mentioned that it looks like I’m drinking soup instead of eating an oatmeal. Also the scrambled eggs were too dry for liking. Overall I didn’t enjoy my breakfast.

Helpful staff

Love this hotel! Staff was super friendly, rooms were very clean and spacious. Their decor was on point. My only complaint is that we left for hours (from early in the morning to 3-4 pm) and our room didn't get cleaned, even when we left the sign up to please clean it. Location was really good and the buffet breakfast had plenty of options.

Great hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and there was always a place to sit. The firepit was a big hit with the smores in the afternoon. We didn't go into the hot tub, but enjoyed seeing others use it. Loved the fireplace inside you could sit by. Would love to visit it again.

The location is just down the Main Street from town, so you’re close to the action but not in the middle of it. They had free street parking behind the hotel which was convenient to use the back entrance.

We only stayed at Canalta for one night , but it was well worth it. We were greeted by the loveliest staff at check in, very smooth. The hotel has great amenities, the pool and the cafe are open very late with food options and cocktails so you can spend your evening at the hotel not needing to step out. They also have lots of games to grab and enjoy with the family in their foyer/dining area. They offer banff transit passes which was very convenient since the hotel is about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the main shops. Would definitely recommend and be back.

The hotel was perfectly located… close enough to walk or bike to downtown, but just far enough to be away from the crowds. The bus stop is only a 2-minute walk. The hot tubs , sauna, and cold plunge were great. But the real star here is the staff! Every one of them were extremely helpful and charming. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a warm, friendly and family oriented place to stay. It is a 10 minute walk to downtown Banff. The hot tubs and sauna are well maintained and the s’mores around the fire pit was something we looked forward to every night, while playing board games that are accessible to play. The buffet breakfast has a lot of variety. There is something for everyone. The room we had was like you would have in a cabin. So warm and cozy. Would stay again.
