We find this hotel to be friendly efficient with staff that are genuinely helpful and keen to provide a good service. For us it is ideal position to meet with friends and family. Will be booking again.

The rooms were nice and clean. The only downside was there was no air conditioning so the room was very hot and we only had a small fan. The spa was lovely , the pool was great.

There is nothing negative to say about this hotel. But what really makes it so good is the staff. They are all fantastic.

Upon arrival there was a sign saying the pool, sauna and steam room were going to be out if order for half of my stay, this was not communicated at all and no compensation or adjustment made to the room rate to compensate especially being in mid to high 3 figures. Tried to book a massage onb3 seperate occasions only to be told on Monday the entire afternoon had been blocked off for no reason, one day they had no availability and one day they had someone working who couldnt even offer the full range of treatments (I was specifically told that the person didnt know how to do them), the shower head was full of mould and frankly could have sweated quicker than the water came out and I was also given a glass that had just my shade of lipstick left behind (sarcasm as im male) other than that the bed was extremely comfortable and the room in general was well maintained and extremely quiet as well, overall not an amazing stay but not the worst ive experienced

Have stayed here many time. It’s due a refurbishment (no air con, old shabby decor) but it’s convenient and they have a gym and pool. However the prices are climbing alarmingly, I was paying @ £90 last year and this week it was £129. more booking direct with the hotel. When I got there the pool was out of order - main reason for staying. No partial refund was offered even though I complained. It’s worth £100 with the leisure, otherwise stay in Newport for that figure and you are closer to other eating places

Very good hotel. Due to not having air conditioning in the rooms, we wouldn't return. For the price charged, one would expect air conditioning.

The staff were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of it. We didn't get chance to use the pool so can't comment on those facilities but what we could see from the window looked good. There was air conditioning in the restaurant but not in our room so that made the room quite hot and stuffy even with the window open. However, there was a fan in the room and that did help a little. Overall, it's a lovely hotel with staff who couldn't do enough, the decor is a little dated but we would stay there again.

Business stay, as previous nice little oasis offering well appointed rooms, hotel restuarant, well stocked bar and spa, welcoming staff and good hispitality.

Pool and spa were amazing , breakfast plenty of choice and lovely , rooms a bit dated but fine..

Come here regularly for a rest fabulous time again as usual

Good hotel, we stayed in a garden suite, and the bedroom was spacious, 2 comfortable chairs and a fab bathroom with separate shower, bath and 2 sinks. Liked the coffee maker as well as kettle and it had a fridge. Negatives: the pillows were really soft and they didn't have any other options. The main issue for me was breakfast: I had added to my booking that I was gluten and yeast free. However, the first morning it was not clear what of the hot food was gluten-free, and the chef came and talked to me to clarify. The bar menu has allergen information so why not the breakfast menu. Day 2, I really didn't fancy a cooked breakfast - so apart from fruit and yoghurt there was nothing I could eat. No gluten free cereal, crackers. The manager came over and said he'd never been asked before!!! Day 3, they had got gluten free porridge or granola. In this day and age I can't understand why there isn't more choice.

Attended a wedding which was very well organised by the hotel - the food excellent and lots of staff available throughout.. Stayed at the hotel and the check in from 3pm was great - room ready before. The room was traditional very comfortable. Coffee and tea with biscuits in the room. Great location for getting out for a run to the canal but also excellent Leisure facilities. We used the pool, sauna, steam room and the jacuzzi which was all well maintained. The Cade bar was great - really good food available.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The jacuzzi and pool were really nice. Yes there is a lot of furniture in the rooms and it is a little dated, but we managed to find space to accommodate both if our ebikes in the room with a little bit of shifting around. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again, this was our second visit.

Great location for trip

Very welcoming, friendly and comfortable stay over the weekend for my girlfriend & I. Had great spaces inside & out for us to rest ahead of & recover following the Newport Marathon! Very reasonable food in the bar & nice, rejuvenating pool & jacuzzi! Thank you

Business stay, large pleasant and clean room with en suite, easy parking and good leisure facilities, hotel bar and relaxing seating.

Clean room although cleaners tried to come in on our last morning before check out time. Dud apologise. Breakfast was good although sometimes a little tight on the coffee. Toast machine under does the toast on first pass, burns it on 2nd. Staff ok but a smile wouldn’t go amiss

All the breakfast items was cold the room was clean but small and dated bed was solid as a rock think the 3pm check in is abit late surely they can get room done by 1pm definitely wont rush to say there again most probably use premier inn instead
