Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately well below expectations. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff were cold and unwelcoming, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. The most frustrating issue was the air conditioning. The hotel controls the temperature, so we had no ability to adjust it from our room. On our first night—during a stretch of nearly 90-degree weather—the air conditioning in our room was broken. Despite repeated calls to the front desk, the staff offered little help. The only solution provided was for someone to manually turn the system on every 30 minutes throughout the night. This required us to keep calling the front desk repeatedly, even waking up the staff member at times because they had forgotten to switch it back on. It was incredibly disruptive and completely unacceptable for any level of hotel, let alone one that positions itself as accommodating to guests. While we understand that things can go wrong, the lack of urgency, empathy, and basic customer service shown by the staff made a bad situation even worse. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations. Also, they claim to be a 4-star hotel, however, the only amenities in the room were soap and shampoo. No lotion or conditioner. No bellmen either . Moreover, breakfast was not included in the price and cost 24€/person. The hotel did credit us the first night due to the broken air and moved us to another room, but the situation was already fractured.

Central location, well appointed bright rooms in an historic hotel, terrific breakfast buffet. However, we were given a voucher for a free welcome drink at the hotel bar when we signed a card saying that we didn't require daily room cleaning service. But we had to pay full price for a glass of wine because we selected a more expensive wine off the menu, not their 'house' wine. We weren't aware of any restrictions, nothing was written on the voucher and we had placed them on the table when we ordered our wine. We felt the error was theirs which they more or less acknowledged but they wouldn't offer us a credit or even a discount at check out. It was a small thing but we thought it was the least they could do. We had two rooms and stayed for three days.

This 4-star hotel is centrally located near the Salzach River and Maria-Theresen Strasse - the main pedestrian walking street. It’s an historic corner building with guest rooms that have been renovated for modern comfort. The shower was one of the best! The downstairs restaurant and bar does a brisk business, which is due to the excellent regional cuisine and creative cocktails. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner and bottle of wine followed by a local dessert of vanilla Ice cream with pumpkin seed crush and oil. A bit odd sounding, but totally delicious!

Have you ever had a chance to live at the room where Mozart or Paganini has stayed? Or other mega famous people ( and the list is very long and impressive ). Goldener Adler is a unique hotel which has got its “face”,it has succeeded to preserve the old charm augmented with the modern day comfort. And Austrian people are so friendly and welcoming! The young waiter Karl who we met at the restaurant downstairs was extremely helpful. And yes, trying local cuisine is an absolute must . Can’t wait to return to enjoy Innsbruck and Goldener Adler at Christmas time .

The staff was lovely, the included breakfast Very Good (especially the fresh orange Juice) and the hotel itself very comfortable. Being just inside the Old city was perfect. Only a mile from the train station, a quick €11 ride.

Amazing location, friendly staff. In the heart of old Innsbruck. Humble breakfast. Two minor inconveniences: no parking on the premises and the lock box was not working.

I loathe when solo at a hotel, particularly being female, when you get allocated the very worst room in the hotel. Zero aspect. Like being in a corridor with a shower at the end. As I have stayed in this hotel in the past, I had assumed they would take care to give me a better standard of room. Everywhere I go, they give me the cupboard room. Why in this day and age of solo travellers. I did not argue about it this time as was tired and I am also tired of always requesting a better room. Was not pleasant at all. I would have upgraded but not even asked. I gave up. Seven days was an eternity.

Right across the road from the Golden Roof... can't ask for a better location to see Innsbruck! Some of the rooms have adjoining doors, so careful you find your bathroom door ... some gonk next door flipped out when I turned the wrong door handle :/

What a lovely surprise! This historical hotel and its’ outstanding staff exceeded any expectations I had. I was fortunate to get room 1390- beautiful views out of three windows. Fabulous home base for four days to explore the area. It was effortless to take the train to Kitzbuhel and ski for the day. The front desk staff were so kind and wonderful!

Don’t even look elsewhere just book it! This is literally in the middle of the town, has an amazing restaurant, and has that old school feel because it’s literally like 400+ years old - BUT it’s nicely updated on the inside! Don’t think twice just do it already!

Perfect location! This hotel was in a perfect location for old town and accessing the tram/cable car to the top of Innsbruck. Cute unique hotel with lots of character. The room was spacious, clean and the perfect place to rest our head at night. Highly recommend staying here.
