Great staff allowed to check in early and staff gave recommendations on where to go and eat

We have stayed here before and just love the location. The staff when they greet you, were very friendly and knowledgeable.

My wife and I stayed here with our in-laws and their baby (separate rooms). They are from another country. We were taking them to the coast for the first time and this hotel is convenient to where all we were going. The bed was OK and the room was overall OK. The AC worked good and so did the TV. The pool was good although it's only 5' deep and there is no hot tub. However, our room had a couple of other issues. 1 - The mini-fridge did not work. It was plugged in but was standing awkward like a piece was missing at the bottom and then it would not power on. I informed the front desk of this and they said maintenance is not on-site to resolve this and our only option would be to change rooms. I asked if they could just swap a working fridge from an unused room to this one and they said no. It was not convenient to pack everything up and move again so we remained where we were. 2 - The shower would not drain. If you stood in the shower for even 5 minutes it would start filling up and you'd be standing in your own filth soon after. 3 - The breakfast was just not good. I only saw one staff member so perhaps she is swamped, but they were out of hot food so no eggs and the sausage was very limited. The pancake batter was empty so no pancakes, and just misc. things were low or gone. It was disappointing that our in-laws could not experience a better breakfast, as well as ourselves. Overall, it's definitely not our best stay. Not the worst either. Not sure if we'll stay again.

The staff were outstanding, all of them we encountered. the outside of the hotel was a little dirty. There was construction right in front of the hotel making it hard to get out in the traffic but no fault of the hotel.

I stayed at the property and they have bed bugs when I got bit and reported it to 3rd shift she was sort of dismissive as if they were use to getting bed bug calls. Then told me they could not do anything until theperson that comes in to treat bed bugs finds one luckily I added it in a cup to show proof I was irritated. Management the next day did help out by giving me a free stay in a different room. But beware of the bed bugs

The hotel was very clean. All staff was very nice. The breakfast was pretty good but no cold choices. There was construction right in front of the hotel that was a nightmare to get through. No fault of the hotel.

The desk clerk was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Hotel was clean and staffs were good. Spacious open area, breakfast area. Could be better with more breakfast items.

Staff at hotel were nice. Room had a mild smell apparent as soon as we entered. AC unit was loud. FP trim plate was missing. Hotel is advertised as Pet Friendly but they dont note there is a fee until you check in ($30). When I initially tried to reserve the room, the the nan on the phone was rude and hung up while I was asking a question.

Best value for the money

The room was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast left alpt to be desired but the waffles were great! The remote to our tv did not work, which was aggravating.The street lights shined in our window all night making it very hard to get a good nights sleep. The pool is very small for the size of the hotel and they closed it at 8pm nightly. It isn't even dark then. I was not aware of the construction to the parking lot and building when making the reservations. I would not book here again.

Location, friendly staff, older but clean

It’s a cheaper construction, toilet in my room had a ring around bowl, room’s carpet wasn’t well swept & front entrance-door windows badly needed cleaning. Southport, NC has many lovely small lodgings so look up one of those or stay at the local Marriott Fairfield Inn.
