A lovely setting in extensive grounds with lots of sports facilities available, although didn’t have time to use them and instead had a run at nearby Hollies, an interesting wooded area. Breakfast had a good choice of quality food and our double room was spacious with air conditioning. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely surroundings. Nice bar on the old Stavles able to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. Bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Staff very helpful and welcoming.

Hotel has seen better days - and needs a refresh inside (e.g. main house). Staff are helpful - but they seem understaffed and slow to respond. Had to wait over an hour for a pizza to arrive - despite repeated requests. So, an OK hotel with OK service. I won't be rushing back.

The room was fine, dated and no air con but a quality fan had been provided. A small fridge with some fresh water really ought to be standard in this day and age. Noisy due to the road, and having to have the window open but bed was comfy. Disappointing breakfast from a health perspective and food quality - for example some fresh Greek yoghurt and a wider range of fruit not drowned in water would have been lovely. The sliced watermelon was delightful. All staff I met were wonderful.

Love this hotel and stay regularly. Great rooms, good selection of foods at breakfast. Good options for lunch afternoon tea and dinner as you can use the Brasserie or the Stables bar. Love the outside terrace too.

Very disappointed with this hotel stayed for two nights, the bath didn’t drain away properly, underneath the bed hadn’t been cleaned. Very overpriced for a small very basic room. Only stayed here as it was the closest hotel to the emerdale tour.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when checking in. The room was spacious and clean, did miss not having a fan in the room as room was very warm. A lovely hotel with lots of character. Breakfast the following day was amazing, plenty to eat and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely book again.

Room was good. Bed was comfortable. Oddly not enough spoons or cups laid for breakfast so we along with others had to take them from unoccupied tables. Paying for anything other than a simple black or white coffee at breakfast is really stingy. Great that they had EV charging points

Lovely venue, and restaurant/buffet areas. Dinner was lovely and staff attentive in The Brasserie although the ploughman’s was more like a ham and egg salad. It wasn’t a ‘ploughman’s’ as we know it. But the dessert made up for it. The buffet breakfast was fabulous! Excellent food and staff. The Stables Pub was also excellent, food fabulous and lovely staff. The TV in my room didn’t work. So after I’d unpacked I had to re- pack and was given a different room. Might be an idea to check everything is working before allocating a room. The cosy double rooms are very basic. Just a hanging space, a bed, bedside table and dressing table. I was rather disappointed that it was so basic. But the thing I found most unusual was the lack of hospitality tray items. I had one biscuit, one coffee two tea bags and some milk for a 2 night stay. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with so little on the tray. And for a 4 star hotel I would have expected more. All in all an enjoyable stay and I would stay there again. Maybe in an upgraded room.

This is a nice enough place to stay, quiet and further out from the busy Leeds center with larger rooms and the options for two double beds. The rooms are large but even post renovation, very oddly done. There were a number of maintainance issues: the AC worked great for six hours and then worked very poorly, the control had no battery, the TV did not receive most of the basic channels. Breakfast was very good. Staff is very nice.
