Lovely hotel and room, check in was a bit confusing as we weren’t sure which building Reception was in-ended up having to get back into the car with all our luggage and driving to the lodge which was some distance from the Reception we’d gone to-there are two. Bathroom looked lovely initially, however when used the toilet flush need Amazonian strength and the shower didn’t drain it could also have done with a bit of Mould and mildew remover.

Bedroom was fine starting to date all black wood Interior newer refurbished wing would probably have been a better choice. Nice bathroom but shower water pressure was poor in my opinion.

Loved the ambience of The Avenue and the food and drinks facilities were exceptional. Staff were very competent and friendly.

Stayed in a suite and having stayed in a suite at De Vere Windsor we were very disappointed. The suite is very small- at best it would be an executive double- suite was a stretch.

Would have been 5 star but no air con and it was one of the hottest days of the year. Also 1 lift miles from anywhere

We had gathered for a family meal together in the restaurant, we entered at 7.30pm. Sadly the service was terribly slow - it was ages befoer our starters arrived and I think it was not until 9.15pm that main courses arrived, apart from the 2 salads! One of the staff checked in if everything was okay - but obviuously not as 2 of us were without any food! Then, when it arrived it was on a hot plate(!), some of the salad was very old and had gone clear and had seen better days, and then the chicken was too tough to cut! Then there was a further delay to get our desserts which did not include any cooked items! There were lots of staff around but they did not see, to want to be seen or to help with simple things like getting more water. In the morning we came back for breakfast - there were no plates, there was food on the floor which people were just walking on around the hotel there were used glasses and plates of food that looked like they had been there for a good couple of hours. Needless to say I won't be rushing back here! Very disappointing for a De Vere hotel, I expected better.

Booked in April 19 people for family get together. Dinner on one night ordered week before together with meal choices. After at restaurant for 7.30 booking. Food arrive at 9.15 and they had run out of one item ordered! To be fair we were given a discount but for some family members it was far too late to eat. Following day there was a huge wedding from late morning to late evening which utilised all of the public areas in Wokefield where most of us were staying. This meant there was nowhere available for us to socialise and chat which was the purpose of the weekend and why we chose this hotel. Perhaps we should have been advised of this in advance. On the plus side staff were friendly and helpful, everywhere was clean with the exception of glasses and cups not cleared from tables in communal areas, rooms a good size and beds comfy.

Overall stay wasn’t great. Asked for earlier check-in at 12 and 2pm but still wasn’t available. The iron in the room was dirty and burnt my shirt for my friends wedding. The room was very smelly. Smelled like damp and it wasn’t just my room, even my friends room smelt the same.

It's waq an amazing experience, from the cleanliness to customer service is top notch. Breakfast was f8ne but would preferred more variety like waffles or pancakes

Amazing place and great stay for 2 days

Had to change rooms 3 times 1st, ripped and stained curtains, dirty cushions, bed side light didn’t work 2nd, large yellow stain on sheets 3rd, no hot water from shower and water just dribbling so not able to have a shower Very disappointing, hotel looks good but rooms are not well maintained and housekeeping staff are obviously slack

Enjoyed our stay

Nice place, lovely quite setting but had to walk quite a way to get to next building where I was staying, unknown to me at check-in. Rooms very clean, air conditioned and comfy bed. Would be nice to have a fridge or some water but otherwise all good

The biggest disappointment was the room service offer. I was amazed when my order turned up in a paper bag and was like a just eat order. I paid the restaurant price so at least expected a plate and cutlery. If I had been told I would made other plans. For such a high end venue it was travelodge offer.

Always clean and tidy. Staff always polire and professional

Was pleasant to stay at. Pool was lovely and golf course looked superb. Breakfast was excellent. Not eco-friendly with so much packaging waste and towels changed even if you indicated they shouldn’t be. Bar is a sports bar and therefore rather noisy if you want to chill a bit more.

I liked that this was a very quiet location, the staff seemed pleasant when speaking with them. I would say that there were refurbishments going on there during my stay - it would have been nice to know that at the time of booking. Rooms are average in my opinion - but that is not a bad thing. Corridors and hallways have spiderwebs and dust build up - it would be good to keep these areas cleaner, but again it’s not a huge down point as you don’t stay in a corridor. The reception and communal area has been nicely designed and has a very relaxing yet hip feel to it. I would come back here if I needed to be in the area.
