Hotel had parking which was great for a city but chargeable . Had a great guy on evening reception who was very helpful and friendly and could not do enough . The hotel coming in from the car park shows its age and my room had black mould around the windows but they are old and would probably need regular black mould sorry this time of the year . The shower worked fine but looked pretty well used and generally it’s all in need of some renovation . Understand that’s on the cards . Other than the need for updating as wallpaper is peeling away above the bed very noticeably and mould it was ok.There is a lot of other places around to choose from . Anyway people were great , maintenance not so great !

The whole building is tired and neglected. Receptionist Katia was very helpful and pleasant and would be an asset to any smart hotel. Room was very shabby, shower needed a deep clean, we didn't feel confide to use it. Bedding and towels were clean, bed and pill ws really comfy. Room smelled stale, needed fresh air, we opened the windows immediately. Car parking was £12 for overnight. Breakfast was the worst we've ever experienced, it was cold and overcooked. Table hadn't been wiped after previous diner. Breakfast time was booked on arrival so we expected it was cooked fresh to order.. I would say it was cooked early and maybe warmed up and eggs cooked fresh. On tasting my poached egg I had a mouth full of vinigar. Some guests were wearing pyjamas at breakfast, I don't think this is acceptable. Breakfast staff were scruffily dressed. All in all not somewhere I'd recommend and at £108 per night definitely not worth the money .

Rooms were smelly not practical. Beds uncomfortable and rooms were dirty. Staff on reception was friendly. Had to pay extra £12 for parking which wasn't advertised on website. There was 3 staff working in kitchen but was told chef rang on sick so no cooked breakfast. There was hardly anything out so I didn't bother. No cups or serviettes on our table. No knife on mind. No plates of you did want cold meat or toast. No money given back for lack of breakfast. Rooms noisey and creaky. We could have had a top hotel for what we paid. Would not recommend

The staff were really lovely. The receptionist on our arrival was very sweet and friendly. The ladies at breakfast were doing well considering there were just 2 of them and i think maybe one of them was also possibly cooking too. The washington staff are let down by the interior which is not their fault. You can only work with what you have. The bed was comfy and the welcome tray was a nice touch. Some reviews have been scathing but i think that's unfair. We had a comfortable night and we were well situated for town and transport. I could understand if you were paying hundreds a night but The Washington is essentially a bargain for a night in Bristol. The staff are fab and no complaints from us.

Comfortable bed and very helpful staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Bathroom (Room 2) in need of some TLC as black mould on sealant a bath/shower area. Perfectly functional place to stay but I was glad to have had a 20% discount as at full price I’d have been unhappy!

Room was small but cleaned. I loved the ground, real coffee in the room. Breakfast was adequate. Pretty good value for money.

The hotel is distinctive with it’s red entrance, lots of information on Bristol It’s got a-lot of character, wonderful staff. The softest cosiest bed I’ve slept in being an Georgian building with such it can do with some maintenance. Breakfast is complimentary with a good selection.

Breakfast area was full even though I’d booked, was therefore unable to eat and it closed before any space became available. Room unfortunately had mould and damp on the walls. Staff service and friendliness was great however!

nice, friendly welcome from the woman on reception. I had my single room upgraded to a larger room too which was nice. plenty of tea and coffee in the room along with some biscuits and some fresh fruit. didn’t have time for the cooked breakfast in the morning as i had a train to catch but they arranged for me to have a bacon and egg sandwich to take away with me which was tasty. would definitely stay here again when i next come to Bristol

Staff were very welcoming and professional. The building is old and that is reflected in it's condition. The window in our room rattled which added to our poor night's sleep. We could hear everything going on in the reception area. The bathroom was a joke. Knees nearly touched the wall when seated on the toilet and when flushing the toilet a pump could be heard for an extended period of time. Not a great experience especially for the price.

Don't be fooled by the quaint exterior. I rejected the first room I was given and the second was not much better. Both rooms needed to be completely refurbished. The beds were awful.Touching the lamp made all the lights go out. There was barely enough space to open a suitcase.

Room was lovely. Tea, coffee etc very good. Linens and towels pristine. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom was adequate, clean but shabby. The day I was there the chef was off sick, so no hot food. Overall very good.
