Loft suites are really nice.

I enjoyed the aesthetic and it was very quiet. Home away from home for two days!!

The hotel had an artsy modern look and information on nearby restaurants with discount coupons to use. Friendly staff and very helpful! We really thought Delaynee @ front desk was exceptional! The Guilded Unicorn was excellent for dinner & First Ave Coffee was a great hit as well!

I love the decor-so old fashioned-like 1880’s. The bed was so soft it gave us a back ache, the walls were kind of thin (heard the guy next door struggle with his cough all night), and no vanity space in bath for toiletries was pretty inconvenient.The restaurant/bar, while not owned by the hotel, was a fun space-food ok, service great! Ok for the price point but since we didn’t get much sleep we won’t be staying again.

I went on a 2 day trip and booked this hotel for 2 nights but when i got there i noticed a bad mold smell,and after 2 hours i was forced to leave because i got really sick {about 3 pm} after I left I contacted the hotel and was told i could only be refunded for 1 night and so now Im forced to pay for 2 hotel rooms because I had to book a different one PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT A CLEAN ROOM AND GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP

We booked the signature suite. This hotel looks way better on paper than in person. We arrived to a couch covered in stains. We used a bed cover to cover the stains and make the couch loungeable. There was a full kitchen but the seats at the island were only an inch lower than the island which mostly rendered them useless. There was no paper towels or dish cloths, we borrowed one from the bathroom to clean the dirty wine glasses we found in a cabinet (along with a broken one). The room itself was pretty but had zero airflow, we slept with the doors to the rooms open each night to stop the rooms from getting too hot. There was one bathroom which was serviceable and only one mirror in the entire room (over the sink in the bathroom). Not having a full length mirror when there was so many places that it would be perfect, felt like a total miss. The location is amazing. We could walk all over downtown and it was close to many things to do. This was a major plus. The staff were all friendly and they were super responsive via text.

Loved staying in this beautiful historical building

Love this historic property. Unfortunately, as in a lot of cities, the homeless have taken over downtown, making it a bit unnerving. Also, I was put in a room with lots of lighting outside the windows, making it extremely bright all night in my room. But this is still a lovely property.

The Montvale hotel has a wonderful aesthetic, the bed was comfortable and the arched windows were a highlight. The room was spacious. My only annoyance was that the room didn’t have a closet to hang my coat or my clothes, it only had a dresser. But otherwise, it was great.

I really enjoy staying at the montvale. There are a lot of fun things to do near the hotel. It’s clean and has reasonably priced locked parking. Get a room with the French shower if you like two shower heads!

Enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Awesome water pressure in the shower/tub combo.There is historic ambience with all of the modern conveniences. We were told The Montvale has existed the longest of the Spokane hotels. The 2nd floor atrium was a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. A variety of eateries are within a block or two of the hotel. Hotel guests receive a discount at several of them. We went to they unique, underground Gilded Unicorn for dinner and loved the breakfast burritos at Rosies…among the best I have had since leaving Texas about a decade ago.

We were here for our daughter’s wedding. The hotel was perfect for us and our guests. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Go to the Guilded Unicorn in the basement. Cool decor and the wings are super yummy

We really loved this hotel. Our only complaints would be the creaky floors which it’s a very old building that’s kinda expected. They only other thing was not being able to get rid of the lights coming in from outside. Lovely place and absolutely stay again.

The Montvale is in the heart of downtown Spokane. Walkable to bars, coffee shops, Riverfront, restaurants and Arena. Was able to take the city bus ($2) from the airport to one block from the hotel.

Just a super chill hotel. Old, but modenized. Cozy, creaky in all the right ways, and water pressure like an elephant at the circus. Will be back.

This is an older hotel but well kept, spacious, and the beds and bathroom were clean. The location is great as downtown is a short walk away. The big negative is the floors are unbelievably creaky, it sounded like a huge party was going on upstairs every night and morning, when there were probably just a few people walking around. I tried not to step on any creaky spots myself so as not to bother the people below us, but it was impossible to completely avoid them.
