I really enjoyed my check in process with Manuel. He was so friendly and extremely informative. Loved his hospitality such a great member of the staff.

Front desk staff was excellent at resolving issues with the online booking. Staff were excellent. Dining experience was outstanding.

Wonderful views from the expansive downstairs window, a welcoming fire in the fireplace, great deck and view from our room, helpful, friendly staff and good breakfast buffet.

In an outstanding location. One can just sit and stare at the view. The breakfast and dinners were very good. The property itself is very beautiful.

The location

A small quibble, it would be nice to be given a free bottle of water every day when the room is cleaned rather than just on your first night. Small things make a difference. Also the restaurant cover charge of €4 per head is rather pricey and was imposed even though they didn’t provide gluten free bread as requested so one of us couldn’t even eat any of it. However the views are stunning and the pool is lovely.

Beautiful setting. Good sized lean comfortable rooms with good beds and nice bathrooms. Nice free breakfast with amazing views from the restaurant.

Great Mountain Hotel with outstanding views

Just an hour from city of Porto, high atop hills that look down a lake that fills the green valley, this hotel has no parallel in my 40+ years of travel. Well-appointed rooms, gentle and always available staff, a cosy bar, social room, lounge...All you could ask for. Sleep with window open, wake to the song of birds. Swim in the pool, or take the tightly snaking steep road down to the lake for sport. Or, go hike in the mountains that abut the Spanish border, explore the rich forests, unique landscapes strewn with granite boulders rounded by wind and rain over billions of years...This is paradise, and the hotel is your home.

Great views. Hotel a bit tired looking. Restaurant service levels poor, staff friendly but they just vanish never to be seen again! Breakfast good. Dinner dire. Expensive and the food wasn't cooked properly, served with frozen/tinned veg. We ate out mostly but choice was limited. Pool decent and clean but a bit chilly. Beds incredibly comfortable. Dogs in the area barking all night long. Nothing much to do in the area, the walks are not well signed, nowhere to cycle unless you're on the hairpin bends. Not the best holiday ever.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the staff was very courteous. We traveled with our young son and one of the downsides of the hotel was that dinner was not served until 8pm, normally our son's bedtime. There are not many other dining options nearby so we stuck with the hotel dining room, but the service was slow and even starting at 8pm, we didn't finish until almost 10, and our son was falling asleep at the table. Also, there were a lot of older couples who clearly did not appreciate having children around and when it was rainy there was nowhere for kids to play. It's much better suited for couples than families.
