Great breakfast and location, and the service of the staff was amazing - especially the young waiters, pool staff, and cleaners. Huge thank you to them! The gym is not included in the price of the hotel which I found surprising! I don’t think you should have to pay for facilities pictured online which imply they’re included. This should be more clearly stated.

Very good hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great. beautiful restaurant/ bar. Breakfast amazing. Scrambled eggs with cheese made fresh are a must! Walking distance from everything we wanted to see: beach, funicular (not accessible at all- big stairs everywhere), beaches, old town or just take the bus (16) to go everywhere. Very good gym on site ($8/day). Would stay again and recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The location worked perfectly for us — everything was within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the inner window view, which made it very quiet — we could only hear birds singing. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was also very good.

Hard to believe it’s a 4 star and not a 5! We stayed at Barceló Costa Vasca for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. The room was clean and spacious and equipped with a sizeable balcony while the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s also situated a short drive away from the old town making it a very convenient base for pintxos crawls. Breakfast is great and includes a variety of hot and cold options but the real star of the show is the onsite gym and spa. The hotel is home to a health club with the most amazing spa and gym I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Equipped with every gym machine you could think of and a hot tub pool, sauna and steam room, these facilities are definitely worth a visit! Thanks for everything!

Very disappointing experience at Barceló Costa Vasca. The staff were polite and tried to be helpful, so this review is not about their attitude. However, the overall handling of the situation was unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Upon arrival for check-in, I was informed that due to “problems with some rooms”, I was being relocated to another hotel — Hotel Tres Reyes San Sebastián — located around 8 km away, roughly 20 minutes by taxi from the original hotel. The worst part is not even the relocation itself, but the fact that I booked specifically to stay in San Sebastián and ended up being sent outside the city, completely changing the experience and logistics of my stay. This created unnecessary stress and disruption to my professional schedule and meetings. If I had wanted to stay outside San Sebastián, I would have booked a hotel there directly. Again, the staff were courteous, but the solution offered was far below expectations for Barceló. Very disappointing.
