Runnymede is a great hotel near Royal Windsor. The hotel has great amenities and entertainment. Food was good but in both restaurants the food could have been served hotter. It was warm but questionable!

If you have to overnight and catch another flight from Heathrow the next day then the Runnymeade offers a great alternative from the usual on site airport hotels …..it’s a Warners hotel and therefore isn’t really in the market for one night stays but it’s worth trying to book because sometimes they take a booking when the hotel isn’t full. It really is a very pleasant alternative - the setting is rather lovely, overlooking the river and many of the rooms, although a little small, are clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious especially if you eat in the Al La Carte dining room that overlooks the river. Very helpful staff too - thoroughly enjoyed my short stay,

The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and in a lovely location with beautiful views. Our room was a good size and comfortable. Unfortunately, the service did not meet expectations. Before our stay, I emailed the hotel to ask about extending our checkout time and received no response. During our stay, I made further attempts to speak to someone about this but was unable to get hold of anyone who could help. As we were staying to celebrate our anniversary, this was particularly disappointing. The early checkout time meant the end of our stay felt rushed, and the complete lack of communication from the hotel left us feeling undervalued as guests. While I understand that requests cannot always be accommodated, a response or acknowledgment would have been appreciated. The hotel has a lot of positive qualities, but the poor communication and lack of customer service unfortunately had a negative impact on what should have been a special occasion.

If you're under 60 I don't recommend this hotel. I think they need to make it more obvious that its catered to over 60s mainly.

Travelling as a lone businessman. I picked this hotel for location, and a couple of the amenities. Upon arrival I noticed a lot of elderly people. I first entered the barrier, I was given my room key and advised where to park. I was unsure on where to find my room once inside the hotel. The lobby was full of elderly people listening to piano music. It was very hot in the reception area due to the central heating that seemed to be on full. Majority of the staff (not all) did not seem that happy or even that happy to help. The nice girl at the entrance to spa was friendly and so was the lad who served my dinner. The gym equipment was modern and fairly plentiful, although the room itself is not the biggest. Some of the equipment hadn’t been cleaned properly so I had black dirt all over my hands, My bedroom smelt of a very unpleasant rose perfume or bleach. Although the deluxe was a good size, the bedroom decor lacked character. There was also not desk for me to sit at to work. The EV charger in the car park was simple to use. You will need to bring your own cable though. I used the restaurant on the evening. As said previous, the young lad who served me was a nice guy. He took my beer away as it was undrinkable. Another waiter pretty much threw my starter at me. Lacked any sort of humour when I commented on how quickly it had arrived. Within 2 minutes of ordering! The following morning I got up to catch a flight from Heathrow T5. I was at the airport within 7 minutes.

Clean, well appointed rooms, very quite, lots of free parking, lovely location on the Thames, great location for both Windsor Castle and Hampton Court and 1 hr from Central London. The included breakfast was excellent. Large dinner selections at buffet well worth the money.

Arrived late so dinner was just finishing, able to order a coffee, or alcohol. But nothing else the coffee bar had space to sell other items like biscuits or cakes (Perhaps in the future). We wasnt told about a neurovirus outbreak the week before. A couple of guests mentioned it. Which explained why alot of cleaning was going on. Hence the 3 stars in parts of the review. Room was very nice and very clean. Spa again nice, but people allowed to lane swim outside the lane swim area, which was problamatic and 1 guest particularly unpleasant when he got in our way! Can't blame the hotel for his manners but he sbould be directed to the correct part of the pool. Breakfast, all staff very attentive, but let down by quality of products especially the sausages and bacon. Porridge however was excellent. Overall stay was pleasant and would stay again.
