This resort and staff went above and beyond. When I tell you I was impressed I mean it! In addition to expected accommodations/amenities, they went out of their way to arrange a thoughtful, elegant, cliffside proposal dinner with a customized a-la-carte meal/wine for myself and my fiancé and had beautiful rose-pedal decor added to our suite timed perfectly after popping the question. Additionally, everyone on staff knew and treated us fondly with congratulations. They also were thoughtful with gestures for my birthday later in the trip with room service gestures. The place has plenty of parking, breathtaking views, peaceful serenity surrounding the pool, an isolated feel that remained plenty accessible to city and exploration. We felt at home and at peace the entire stay and they placed of friends down the hall from us for ease of access! Although there was no spa access here, they arranged reservations at nearby facilities for us to enjoy seamlessly on numerous days. Best spot on the island. I would stay here again and again!

The setting is incredible. The hotel, situated on a cliff, overlooks the ocean, so guest can see the ocean wherever they are. The gardens are beautiful and really well taken care of. The salt water pool is fantastic. Finally, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

Beautiful hotel with breathtaking views. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good and there’s also a second restaurant for lunch and dinner to order off a menu. Pool and property is well maintained. Staff is helpful if you need anything or want to book something. Rooms were a good size and bed was comfortable. We loved our stay here and much preferred it over a stay in Ponta Delgada as we had a rental car. You just can’t get that relaxing beach resort feel in the city like you can here.

The views are amazing! And the staff is very nice. Unfortunately the hotel breakfast was poor and of very mediocre quality. The dinner restaurant was a buffet with mediocre cafeteria quality items. Most surprising was the fact that the towels were ancient and yellowed badly needed replacement. The hotel needs a renovation if it is to become an attractive place. A pity since the location is truly phenomenal.

The view is beautiful but the buildings are tired, the front desk checkin staff is minimal, and the room decor is also tired.

Excellent - staff were so helpful and friendly

The view was absolutely incredible. The staff — especially the man at the front desk — was extremely attentive, professional, and cheerful. The hotel itself was just amazing. The view from the room at the back was breathtaking. What I liked less was that the mattress was, for me, way too firm — or maybe just old and worn out.

What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip, and could not have been happier. The front desk staff were kind and informative. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast (and dinner) was amazing and delicious and so worth the price! It is located in such a great place too, right on the cliffside with a gorgeous view of the ocean, and within driving distance of plenty of other beautiful spots on the island (all of the island is beautiful to be honest). If you are looking for a place to stay- this is the one! We hope to return here again in the future :)

Lovely ocean front property with stunning views from the room. We enjoyed the grounds and how quiet and secluded the property is. Breakfast was fairly average but does the job. There is only soap in the washroom so be sure to bring what you need.
