Very nice hotel, great location with lots of food options close by. Parking is under the hotel and very convenient. Room was clean and modern and staff very helpful. We originally book this hotel for one night but extended it to two nights due to a poor hotel experience the prior night.

Well situated for the Altestadt and the attractions. A reasonable walk from the station but acceptable. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast buffet in a light and attractive first floor breakfast room with views. The ground floor entrance is a little unprepossessing but the welcome was good and the room made comfortable by the air conditioning, which was needed. A short walk from the attractions in the city.

Everything was as expected with regard to the room and the bathroom. The breakfast was very nice, and the staff were all very helpful.

The restaurant needs a better menu but otherwise great place to stay.

We spent two nights in Freiburg at this hotel. The town is beautiful and we had a great visit. So much to do and see. The market on the church square was beautiful on Saturday morning. A couple of things to know. It is a short walk to the hotel from the train but recommend you take the city tram. It lets off very close to the hotel. We walked but one of our luggage wheels did not survive the journey over the cobble stone streets. The room was nice but there was insufficient cooling and it was warm at night for sleeping. The hotel location is perfect for walking to most city attractions but the city rail will take you just about everywhere. A couple day pass is a good idea and inexpensive. Do not opt for the breakfast buffet. There are cheaper and better options for breakfast close by. One breakfast restaurant on the square near the church in the center of town was especially nice but can’t recall the name. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend a stay.

The only negative I can say is that the entrance to the hotel is not the easiest to find.l because you see the restaurant advertisement and not the hotel. However, that is such a minor complaimt. The room was clean and safe. The staff was so pleasnt, friendly, and helpful. The hotel was also ideally located to the tram and other locations. I highly recommend.

We loved the Mercure Hotel! The location was perfect, the room was clean and comfy, and the staff was very accommodating! I would definitely stay here again! The parking was so easy since the hotel is linked to the parking garage! We did not have breakfast, so I can’t comment on that!

The hotel is super convenient to visiting Freiburg. The cathedral and shopping are easily within walking distance.

Overall nice hotel with very good breakfast. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. I loved the shower. The only thing I didn’t like was two single duvets on a double bed. Breakfast was fantastic in terms of choices. Location wise it is close to the Minster and on the side of town that is convenient to go hiking in the hills/Black Forest. Slightly further to walk from the main train station, but still very close to most things. For what it offered was good value too.

A nice modern hotel well placed for the old town. Staff were helpful and attentive. It lacks anywhere to get a beverage and snack during the day. I arrived at about 9pm and ate in the bar area where I paid over the odds for a very small portion of reheated chilli con carne. In summary, a nice place to sleep but limited other facilities.

Hotter than the surface of the sun. They switch off the air conditioning. Not sure why? I think they believe they are saving penguins rather than caring about the comfort of their guests. Someone was also smoking on our floor. Took me back to the 90’s. I could have murdered 20 Marlboro lights, right there and then.

Perfect location by the Carhedral. Great for walking and exploring the city.

Absolutely wonderful stay - the room was immaculately clean and comfortable, the staff was very helpful and kind. Ideal proximity to walking paths, the Munsterplatz, shopping and dining. We hope to return to Freiburg and we will absolutely stay at the Mercure again!

Exactly what I expected. Clean room, modern. Parking under the hotel which isn’t always the case in Europe. Good breakfast! Central to old town Freiburg.
