Pizza overpriced and poor quality. Breakfast muffin in the morning hashbrowns were cold one sausage one rasher one egg muffin was hard and £10 for the privilege Excellent gym facilities and parking facilities and the staff were polite food very substandard

Two issues we found this time- one with health club charging for grandsons using pool when we were staying (never done before and we’ve been coming here at least five years) and secondly housekeeping knocking on room at 9 am when check out isn’t until 11. Reception informed on leaving.

The room was not ready until late (about an hour too late!) and no apology or goodwill gesture was offered while we waited, not even a coffee! When booking, I requested an accessible room or one close to the bar and restaurant for my mother due to mobility issues. Instead, the room was around a 10 minute walk from reception for someone with reduced mobility, including several doors, which was unsuitable. Reception said no closer rooms were available, so I suggested swapping rooms with my mother once ours would be ready, to give her our larger family room nearer the amenities (which cost a lot more for 3 of us!). Due to the late room availability, we also missed the spa before joining our party, our relatives checked in 1.5 hours before us! Given this and our willingness to accommodate by swapping rooms, I would have expected some acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Bar service was poor, with staff appearing moody and abrupt. I felt uncomfortable asking the price of a brownie, an agency worker was spoken to abruptly when checking the price of something with a colleague, and a spoon was slammed onto my plate. We were polite guests, not making unreasonable requests. Our young daughter found sweets on the floor in our bedroom! The pool was cold and a member complained and left. Even the poolside area was extremely cold, I had a sauna and left. I won’t go into detail on the poorly cooked breakfast buffet, it was a mess! Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money.

Ideal stay for Winchester or just a relaxing trip. The hotel is quite spread out so if disabled or can’t walk far I suggest asking for a room close to reception. Maintenance staff were fantastic. Cleaning staff great. Bar staff friendly. Highly recommend. Definitely going back.

Very firm bed and lumpy pillows. Disturbed night due to other guests continually returning to rooms in the early hours. Bar meal on first night, pizza very good but Fish and Chips over cooked.
