Air conditioning didn't work despite changing rooms, one unit did nothing and the other didn't cool the air and just blew normal air. Room was otherwise clean and acceptable

The room we had was very run down and had mould on the ceiling where there had been a leak of some sort. The climate control did not work in our room and with temperatures during our stay hitting 39 degrees, we had an awful night. To top it all, my wife had put our cool bag on the floor and when we woke up it was crawling with ants, it totally freaked my wife out. Unfortunately, none of the staff could speak English so it was pointless trying to complain. The only redeeming thing I could say was that the breakfast was ok. I would never stay here again.

It was fine for the night, a basic hotel with a good breakfast, but the restaurant was fully booked, so may be best to reserve in advance. But the Bistro Regent just round the corner was good.

Breakfast was good

Grotty at best. A room that was like a dungeon. Noise from rooms above and pillows that lived their useful lives decades ago. Restaurant in evening with the most miserable waitress/receptionist ever. Theres a lovely restaurant next door, go there . Breakfast was a shock as it was actually the only decent thing. Left feeling grubby

All was clean but there were some wood lice crawling from under a floorboard so wasn’t keen to put my feet in bare floor.

Check in left a lot to be desired - with the receptionist continuing a personal phone call and ignoring me for over 5 mins. Not what you need at 11pm when you have been driving for 12hrs. Also the property advertises itself as pet friendly- but there is a €10 surcharge per pet. Other than that the room was clean, the bed was good and it’s in a convenient location

Just 1 night stay traveling through France, clean and comfortable

We only wanted overnight stay. Reception staff were friendly and we checked in quite late. Room was budget as we knew but comfortable and clean and everything worked. Would stop there again as somewhere to out your head down fir the night .

The receptionist spoke no English whatsoever. The room was adequate but the choice of evening meal was very limited and the breakfast average. We would not choose this hotel again.

Basic accommodation but good value. Just twenty five minutes walk into Saintes centre and tourist sites.

I would suggest the hotel rooms to have a good deep clean it was super dirty full of dust on the skirting board spider webs everywhere

Nice place and value for money. Any time again.

Quick one night stop on motorway journey. Had a lovely walk down to the town centre, church and amphitheatre. Well worth the walk. Dinner in hotel well priced and tasty.

Friendly service. Excellent breakfast. Clean room with comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities

This was my second stay. A very good 3 course dinner at a reasonable price. Conveniently located and a good breakfast. Raphael is an excellent host , and the service is friendly and efficient.

Needs updating very tired

Have used this hotel several times over the years. Was very disappointed by person manning reception. Seemed untutored in this role and spoke no English which might have made some difference. Place really needs a facelift. Outside the rooms waste bins overflowing and no effort to tidy the area. Room just ok. Breakfast poor for the cost. Will never be back to it.
