Small gym

Stay was very enjoyable! Staff was super helpful and courteous. Breakfast was delicious as always. Have stayed here several times and Raintree still is my first choice hotel when I visit Chennai!

Internet did not work for 90% of our stay. The couple of times it did work, it was extremely slow. Their rooftop restaurant was blocked for some party the 2 times we tried to eat there. They have no 24 hour restaurant. So no food outside of their limited hours. Gym is not 24 hours which is inconvenient for international travelers to stick to a routine. Their pool was pretty dirty and had lots of men in there most of the time. Too small of a pool. Staff were very nice and polite. They cleaned the room whenever we had requested.

Wonderful food at all times. Great selection in the buffets as well as in the restaurants. Chap Chay is a must try. Also the breakfast buffet was excellent. Hospitality top notch! Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area in Chennai. We arrived on a flight at 5am and we booked hotel taxi to pick us up. When we arrived at 6am they kindly let us leave our cases and said they would work to get us an early check in so we went out for a walk and a spot of breakfast and when we came back at 9am they had our room ready for us. This was a god send and we really appreciated the effort the had made. Hotel is 10 mins in tuktuk to beach front and is just about walkable distance to Mysore temple. They have a roof top bar which was a great spot to sit in eveving with a drink overlooking the city at night. Breakfast buffet was included in room price and they had a good selection of Indian and western fare. There are a few restarunats and bars in the area and streets are walkable for the most part.

A good location for me. The staff were, as always, very helpful and friendly. The buffet food in the Colony restaurant was good. The rooms are generally clean and comfortable, although on this occasion I found that some of the electrical sockets did not work and the telephone was offline. Neither of these were critical, but I would have expected everything to be in working order.

We have stayed at the raintree twice now and have had an excellent experience both times! Strongly recommend the customer service is excellent, the food is delicious and the rooms are clean and nice.

I had a wonderful, 6-day stay @ The Raintree. All of the stay were incredibly warm, friendly, and very service oriented. The room was large, the bed, linen, and towels were comfortable. The buffet breakfast featured loads of Indian and Western dishes. Individually cooked egg, pancake and other dishes were also included. The filter coffee was great. I would stay here again if I'm ever in Chennai.

Stairs comfortable. Delicious food! Had happy hour as part of room package which was great! Rooftop bar has amazing views! Some of the friendliest staff, I have come across! Area around the property is so-so .. Quite crowded, barely any space on the sidewalks to walk (you end up walking on the road along with crazy traffic!) .. There is some huge construction going on right next-door, which will probably go on for the next couple of years (full block size, laying foundation), can get a little noisy during the day, but they generally shut down after 10 PM except for some truck movement & deliveries during the night.

Raintree is one of the best places to stay in Sourhern Chennai. But they have become too expensive. Only the very rich can afford to stay at this hotel.

All good. Exactly as advertised. Breakfast was a bit chaotic when they were busy (avoid 8-9), otherwise all good. Dinner on the roof was a little pricey for Chennai (especially wine as they only offer imported, no Indian) but very enjoyable with great views. The rooftop pool was a very welcome way of cooling off.
